This is a book for anyone interested in beer in NC. However, much of the information in this book is somewhat dated by now. Some of NCs best breweries started up after 2011-2012 (Wicked Weed, Haw River Farmhouse Ales, etc.) The good news is that there will be an updated version of the book coming out in May of this year. I would only recommend buying this copy of the book if you want a coffee table book about NC beer. In other words all the breweries described in the book sound equally amazing. In reality, there's a lot of variation in quality of NC beers. Looking forward to seeing the updated version soon.

A very informative book about the history of craft brewing in the state of North Carolina from colonization onward. The book details the "Pop the Cap" law that was passed in 2005 and the explosion of micro breweries that followed. There is also a detailed guide to all of the local NC craft breweries broken up by region. While this book is no longer as current since it was published in 2012, most of the breweries listed are still open and doing well.
