Each chapter has a different author so this text is very inconsistent. The best chapters challenged what I knew about for example the world become a better place for everyone. This text didn’t change my mind but brought into question some of the methodology that’s been used to prove poverty reduction and increased life expectancies etc.

Used this book for my masters course. It was very informative, although at times dry. But if you do not know a history of global econ, I would say it is a good book to use.
