What a fun cookbook. Not just for all the yummy recipes and I mean there are a lot of recipes. More than some cookbooks that I have seen. This is a really great thing as you want to be able to find things to try and not just a few. However why I say this book is fun is because of all of the quotes and passages from the characters in the series. I found some interesting recipes that I don't remember seeing in other cookbooks that I will have to try. Ones like Chorizo-Chocolate Tapas that features What a fun cookbook. This is a really great thing as you want to be able to find things to try and not just a few. However why I say this book is fun is because of all of the quotes and passages from the characters in the series. I found some interesting recipes that I don't remember seeing in other cookbooks that I will have to try. Ones like Chorizo-Chocolate Tapas that features chorizo sausage, baguette bread, and chocolate. This is a Spain inspired dish and Danny's dish. Then there is the Lemon Linguine, Creamed Fresh Corn-Stuffed Red Bell Peppers, Butterscotch Pie, Buttermilk Panna Cotta with Strawberries, and to down all this food with drinks like... Lucky's Killer Margaritas, Bobby and Denver's White Win Sangria, the Venus Bellini, and the Jackie Collins by Wolfgang Puck. On the other hand, this book is not an everyday type of cookbook. It is not like everyone has stocked in their homes foods like Smoked Duck for the Smoked Duck Pizza with Hoisin Sauce. How about lobster, clams, prosciutto, and fotina cheese to name a few others. Plus, not everyone may like the taste of some of these foods. So I would say this cookbook is more of a fun collector's item.

Honestly, when I came to the index of recipes, all that crossed my mind was a lot of prep work for complicated dishes with fancy names. I was wrong. Simple ingredients showcased best -- you only need a handful of aromatics and seasonally fresh produce, sturdy kitchen equipment, some cooking/dessert wines and you're ultimately good to go from cover to cover!

Jackie Collins is the most recent author to jump on the cookbook bandwagon. I must admit that I rolled my eyes when I saw this cookbook, particularly with the book quotes. I was shocked when I walked away from it with several new recipes under my belt. While some are obviously standard recipes, she did have a couple in there that were pretty unique. Cooking experience level ranges from novice to more experienced.

I base my review on Jackie's entertaining accompanying descriptions of the recipes...also I love the fabulous photos. Now I realize I could probably find those pics online somewhere, but so what? As far as the recipes, most seem too complicated for me. I wanna be invited to Lucky Santangelo's house and drink and hear stories and sample these dishes.

I receive this book for a review: I just received this book as a review & it is a very nice cookbook, with anecdotes from the Lucky series. However, the recipes are not everyday recipes & there aren't any that I could possibly make. For me, it's more or less just a swag piece for me, that I appreciate. I bought this book on a lark after Jackie Collins died, but I like the recipes, they're simple, good food you'd want to eat and generally for smaller groups.
