He got it right! I worked as a prison guard for several years and I was curious if I would be able to determine if the author had truly been a correctional officer. I could tell he had, indeed, been a CO. Some of our experiences were very similar. Unfortunately, we agree on a major point: Sometimes honest CO's are harrassed needlessly by superiors and given more respect and appreciation by inmates. Things should not be this way. This is a good read for potential CO candidates. He got it right!
