A lecturer, several post-graduate students and a poet in residence from Exeter University went on a field trip to Iceland. This book came from that trip. It contains a brief overview of the physical geography of Iceland by the lecturer, some photographs taken by the students and poems by the poet using Iceland and the trip as the inspiration. The poems come first, followed by the photographs and then the factual geography information. I read some of the poems, looked at the photographs, read about the geography and then looked at the photographs again and read the rest of the poems. I found the poems much more interesting after reading about Iceland and seeing the photographs, so I went back and read the early ones again. I think the order of facts, photographs, poems would have been better than poems, photographs, facts as printed, so I suggest you try reading in that order instead of the book as produced, unless you already know Iceland well.
