Full disclosure: I love Chrissy Teigen. I’m telling you..I have an obsession with her. She is so freaking hilarious, cooks incredible food, speaks her mind no matter what, and is one gorgeous chick (not that this part matters in the slightest..honestly). I admire her. I think my boyfriend gets sick of me talking about her or saying “omg..guess what Teigs just said!” Yes..I have my own personal nickname for her, and she has no clue who I am. Yet in my mind I think we are best friends. I am an avid follower of Chrissy’s food blog, sodelushious, and have cooked numerous meals I didn’t think possible all with the help from my girl, Teigs ;) Her seared scallops have been a staple on my menu since the first day I tried those babies in my mouth. Luckily for all of us, Chrissy Teigen released her very first cookbook on Tuesday. I can tell you in 100% honesty that this is my all-time favorite cookbook. I will be cooking and trying every single recipe. There is everything. With sections like breakfast all-day, soupmaster, vegetable things, party time, things that intimidate people but shouldn’t, (and even more) you know you’re in for something special! Chrissy has this way of making cooking not too complicated. I’ve always felt that she lays the recipe out in simple terms, while also making it fun and even relatable. There is incredible photography throughout..of every single recipe (this is how I like my cookbooks so I can look at the food going “nom nom nom”) and obviously of supermodel Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend. Seeing them lounging in bed eating breakfast only made me want to do the same. All of the food looks incredible. Of what I’ve tried so far, they all taste phenomenal. There’s so much to munch on here including: sour cream and broccoli baked potato cakes, “everything” chicken sandwich melts, secretly spicy deviled eggs, actual drunken noodles, roasted whole fish, split pea soup with crispy hot dogs (and hot dog bun croutons), dutch baby pancake, and just so so much more. Girlfriend clearly knows that king’s hawaiian rolls make a sandwich that much better and her cheesy jalapeño tuna casserole has potato chip topping! I mean..when they named her cookbook Cravings, they weren’t kidding. I admit some of the Thai classics scare me, but I’m an American girl whose extended knowledge of Asian food is basically sushi or Chinese takeout. Even though it’s out of my comfort zone, I’m still going all the way and expanding my food horizons. Pepper Thai (Chrissy’s adorable mom) is amazing. She practically looks like Chrissy’s sister and has such a great personality. It’s hard not to see where Chrissy got it from. I’m so glad she decided to include some of her mom’s recipes that she grew up with. Also, don’t worry..there are several of John’s recipes included as well. I’m dying to try his tuscan brick chicken among other things. The introductions for each recipe, as well as the intro to the book, all have a way of making me laugh and enjoy every word I’m reading. Usually in cookbooks, these kinds of things feel like fluff and I avoid reading them. But Chrissy’s…I devoured every single word. She talks about everything from life and fast food battles to how her husband John Legend makes the best mac&cheese to how she made recipe x while watching Real Housewives. Yes, the girl loves Bravo and I love her for it. She even calls out Taco Bell for copying a recipe based off an instagram pic she posted. I dig it..I love Chrissy’s spunk, sass, wit, whatever you want to call it. She sort of has it all. I truly cannot recommend this cookbook enough. I’m over here hoping beyond all hope that Chrissy Teigen decides to come out with a second cookbook because I really cannot get enough of her recipes or personality.

Chrissy Teigen might be a hot mess. On publishing this cookbook she accidentally put her cell phone number in it and didn't realize it until hundreds of calls later. She seems to know how to laugh things off and she is extremely likeable in this cookbook. One story she told about starting to put up food pics on Instagram and the guys just telling her to show more TITTAYYYY cracks me up. Anyways the food...glorious food. Teigen admits to loving food and eating it. Sometimes your pajamas and Netflix with a big plate of carbs are just needed. Case in points include: French Toast Casserole with Salted Frosted Flakes. *flails* Looky at the pretty pictures too. Baked Cake oatmeal: Zucchini fries with Sriracha Dressing: And when you are feeling extra fancy: Frito Pie Bar...I'm totally eating this soon. ETA: I made a couple of these recipes. The Tuna Casserole with Jalapeno chips, I did cut back on the amount of cheese. It asked for 3 cups of cheddar cheese in just the bottom layer..I only used two and didn't add any to the topping like the recipe called for. It was good but extremely rich tasting. I also made her Garlicy Cheese bread and cut the amount of ingredients in third and still had too much topping. The flavors were good though. Who knows why I'm like that so I'm going with : this review..they deserve some likes too.

It's been a while since I've seen a cookbook that's as beautiful as 'Cravings.' In fact, even if the recipes were total crap, I'd still enjoy this simply for the fact that it's such a beautiful book just to look at. I wouldn't just have been attracted to this book because it was written by a celebrity. Usually, that's good enough reasoning for me NOT to check out something. But after hearing such good things about Cravings, I decided to give it a shot - and I'm truly happy that I did. But after hearing such good things about Cravings, I decided to give it a shot - and I'm truly happy that I did. Whether it's the authentic Thai cuisine recipes, or down home mac-n-cheese, there's something in here for everyone. And perhaps best of all, they're not difficult recipes. I'm not someone who wants to head into the kitchen to make dinner and spend the next 2 hours slaving over the stove. Thankfully, apparently neither does Chrissy. These are pretty fast, pretty easy, and pretty tasty - a good recipe in MY cookbook. What did I think?: If you're looking for a great book of really high quality recipes, this one will take that to the next level by adding in some stunning photography. I wasn't expecting too much, but was thrilled to be able to just flip through the pages of this book. Who should read it?: Not only do I think this is an excellent choice for both the beginner and expert cooks, I think it would be a great gift too! So get it for yourself, get it for someone else, but at least check it out next time you find yourself suddenly wandering through the cooking section of your favorite bookstore. Plus, FOOD!!! *I was provided with a copy of this book in order to conduct this honest review.* WEBSITE | TWITTER | FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM

Go beyond your borders, try something new, you may be surprised with what you find! Words of Caution: - Based on personal preference, I cut the salt in most recipes by almost half. You can always add salt, you can't take it back out. - SPICE! If you're not big on heat, I would cut some of the spicier elements by half as well. Do not attempt the Fish Tacos at full heat if you're not ready to sweat through the entire meal. (My husband loved them.) I checked out this cookbook after seeing one of its appetizing recipes on Pinterest. I'm not that familiar with Chrissy Teigen, but based on this cookbook, she's crazy photogenic and knows how to cook. I was immediately drawn to about 16 of the 94 beautifully photographed recipes, which I realize is a pretty low percentage, but their quality created a sense of urgency that got me in the kitchen the following day and of course I can't dismiss the amazing flavors that ensued. My first recreation: Chicken Lettuce Wraps (recipe can also be found HERE if you don't have access to the cookbook) Believe me when I say this photo does not do justice to the amazing flavors. I'm making two batches next time because this dish was devoured way too fast and we all wanted MORE. It should be noted that the recipe did require a trip to the store for several bottles of ingredients that I personally may only find myself using for this recipe (but you may keep them on hand), and the prep work kicked my butt. I'm pulling out the food processor next time to save my wrist from all that chopping and dicing. But oh so worth it. Cultural, sensible, indulgent, but mostly delicious, this is a cookbook I'm really glad I decided to flip through. Looking forward to taking a peek at her newest one! Check it out.

I drooled and laughed the whole time! Every recipe sounds delicious and easy to execute. But what really made me love this book is how hilarious the recipe descriptions are! Chrissy Teigen understands the struggle of needing that bikini bod but totally needing some cheesy, carby, goodness! Preach girl

I checked this out of the library, as I often do with cookbooks, to see if it was worth purchasing. I admit, I'm skeptical of celebrity cookbooks but had heard that this one had genuinely good recipes. Well, perhaps it does. Not that I wanted to make any of them. I was so put off by Teigen's expletive-laden, idiotic headnotes and the constant attempts to be just hilariously funny, that I didn't even bother to attempt the recipes. I returned it.

I finished this about a week ago, but I wanted to try some of the recipes before writing up my review. I love Chrissy Teigen. The girl is my spirit animal. In fact, I was watching Lip Sync Battle while making the second recipe from this book. I'm that awesome. The humor in this cookbook was an unexpected delight. Full disclosure: I'm a vegetarian who can never eat gluten due to an autoimmune disease. So wtf am I doing with this cookbook? It is very meat-lover oriented, but you can just leave the meat out or substitute with tofu or whatevs for most of the recipes. And it's pretty easy to substitute gluten free ingredients with what is available at your local grocery store. The first recipe I tried was for the Sour Cream and Broccoli Baked Potato Cakes. The only modification I did for this one was substituting corn starch for the egg. OMFG this was so good. The freaking potatoes took me so long to bake in the microwave, though, that I may try using ready made mashed potatoes next time to see how that works. Next I made the Yellow Cake Baked Oatmeal with peaches and raspberries. I made this recipe gluten free and vegan by substituting gf yellow cake mix for regular gluteny cake mix, almond milk for the whole milk, corn starch for the eggs and gf oats. There are so many possibilities with this one. Is it breakfast? Is it dessert? I used plain oats this time, but I'd also like to try brown sugar or maybe plain oats with a brown sugar crust on top? So many options! I think next I will try the Baked Pasta Alla Norma with mozzarella bombs... or maybe Chrissy's Mac and Cheese. This book makes me excited to cook and try new recipes. You can't ask for more than that.

This is not your typical celebrity cookbook. It is really good! Teigen is creative, funny and you can really tell she loves food and her recipes. I would be surprised if she didn't write another cookbook in the future. This is truly her thing.

Whether you’re a beginner, or have experience in the kitchen, you’ll find numerous recipes that you’ll cook up, and enjoy! I cooked through this entire book in 6 months during quarantine. It took me a little over 6 months, but all 94 recipes....complete 🤙🏼 . What I learned: • Anyone can cook. I used to survive off Chinese takeout and cereal in college. I had literally never even minced garlic before this project (embarrassing, I know). There are so many resources online to help you fold in the cheese, clean and despine a fish, desand clams, season a cast iron skillet, or stuff a chicken. Please don’t be intimidated by I cooked through this entire book in 6 months during quarantine. It took me a little over 6 months, but all 94 recipes....complete 🤙🏼 . If you can, cook for yourself and stop spending $36 on an $8 sandwich on DoorDash. • Confidence in the kitchen directly correlated with the confidence I felt in my personal life. I used intuitive eating the entire time I cooked this cookbook. I ate all the leftovers. I trusted my body and what she needed to sustain herself. My body dysmorphia was at an all time low and I loved cooking for y’all in short shorts, no bra, and tried to always make sure to show myself enjoying every single, delectable bite, because fat people should be able to enjoy food in public without shame. I have the privilege of being a “small fat,” but I believe people of all sizes deserve to love food wholeheartedly. • Falling in love with food also helped me fall in love in real life. The first thing my boyfriend Austin said to me on Hinge was “What cookbook are you cooking through?,” our first texting conversation was me giving him the lowdown on Alison Roman’s drama she caused Chrissy, and one of our first dates was cooking bolognese. Would Austin and I be dating without this project? I hope so, but thank you Chrissy. • Food culture is very elitist, classist, and fatphobic and I started being very specific and picky with who I chose to follow for food inspiration. Understanding the politics and privilege behind food is important and I hope to share more about that with you as I cook through my second book. . And my second book I’m gonna cook through is none other than CRAVINGS: HUNGRY FOR MORE. Can’t wait to wear my Chrissy shirt that I splurged on to celebrate the completion of this project. Cheers to the best I’ve ever eaten in my entire life 🙌🏼🍻the best recipes are the prosciutto chicken, the pad grapow chicken, sesame noodles, Chinese chicken salad, Thai beef salad, ham and potatoes, and the drunken noodles. THE FOOD, truly, IS PHENOMENAL.

Chrissy Teigen puts a fresh new spin on so many recipes, offers some I've never seen, and organizes her book in a new and appealing way. As the weather cools, I'll look forward to making Pot Pie Soup and Chrissy's Mac and Cheese, and with several weeks of warm weather to go, will spend the meantime trying my hand at Pounded Thai Papaya Salad and Dump and Done Ramen Salad. Even more fun than food (hard to believe), though, the book is filled with love. The photos of her with her mother and her husband pour happiness from the pages. You'll feel better just for browsing through these pages, and you'll end up with several new ideas for what to cook for dinner (or lunch, or whatever)!

Also, I am 100% here for a Teigen memoir or book of essays.

I've never thought to or wanted to count a cookbook as a book read on GR but I am literally read every single page in this amazing cookbook. Well worth the actual read. Chrissy comes through on every page! I took my time and read through each recipe. Her little paragraphs at the beginning of each recipe are just classic Teigen. lol. Last night I made Perfect Seared Scallops with Warm Corn Salad and Sour Cream and Broccoli Potato Cakes. It all took a bit longer than I had anticipated and the broccoli needed more time to cook to become mashable so I ended up throwing it, along with the potatoes and sour cream (and other ingredients for the cakes) into my Nutribullet for a quick mix. Worked well. I did not have the frozen corn I thought I did (I ALWAYS have frozen corn...grr!) so it was a warm pea salad. lol. Luckily we both like peas. But all in all, very delicious! The scallops were the shining star. Tonight's menu will be Rotochick Chicken Noodle Soup!

I picked this up because it's super popular. Teigen is likeable and the book is very fun (it's also beautifully shot). The book includes recipes for craveable foods, pretty much covering all meals but desert. The recipes are sound, and she includes prep and cooking times for each, as well as some variations where applicable. A lot of these weren't that revolutionary for me. I've got an awesome mac & cheese recipe; while her wings are good, so are mine - and my family is used to those. Oddly, I fo I picked this up because it's super popular. Oddly, I found the salad chapter and the Thai chapter to be the strongest (odd because I don't usually find salads that interesting - but these are). And after a while, Teigen's tone got annoying. . . she references her instagram feed constantly, as well as her blog. I think if I were a fan of hers this would be more interesting to me - while I like her, I wouldn't say I'm a follower of her stuff - so this was kind of lost on me. Maybe I'm too old for this? I think this would be a good house warming gift for someone in their 20's who's just starting to entertain and cook. There are a lot of good ideas in here (the apps are another strong chapter) and she's very creative with spices. It's a solid book, just not sure I see working it into my heavy rotation.

Amazingly delicious. If you need to tell someone bad news, make them dinner from this book first. Maybe the awesomeness of their meal will distract them. I made the Creamy Potato Salad with Bacon and the Chipotle-Honey Chicken with Mango-Avocado Salsa. I can't wait for leftovers. The ingredients were easy to find and the instructions were spot on. I did reduce the chipotle peppers and the garlic by half, but that was because we're kind of wimpy with the hot stuff. There were a lot of dishes to be Amazingly delicious. There were a lot of dishes to be washed after making this meal, but the crazy goodness of it more than made up for the extra 15 minutes of hand washing pots and pans. I had no idea who Teigen was when I checked this book out from the library, so it did not have celebrity appeal for me. The food photos are plentiful, beautiful and helpful. There are no dessert recipes in this collection. Frankly, you probably don't need dessert after consuming a healthy portion of this comfort food. Can't wait to try more recipes!

When I went shopping for books back home a few months ago, I have to admit that I was wishing I would find Chrissy Teigen's cookbook, and I did! It was such a happy moment! The book is attractive and sexy just like her! Chrissy shares her love for food, her family and origins in every page, the photos are breathtaking and seem so much fun. I want to be her best friend! I flagged a few recipes to make in the next two weeks. I'm so excited about the prospect of tasting something entirely new! Ok, so now that I've actually tried a few recipes, let me just say, this shit is DELICIOUS. I actually read through the whole book, tabbing pages of recipes that looked especially good to me, and it was a fun read. Chrissy has included lots of anecdotes and histories throughout the book that really enhance the overall experience (and she's genuinely hilarious). Some of the recipes are more difficult than others, of course, but none that I've seen or tried have been particularly intimidating. This is not a "How To Get Chrissy Teigen's Body" cookbook, this is a how to make really tasty, and sometimes lazy, food cookbook. I highly recommend it.

I'm a huge fan of Chrissy Teigen! She seems like so much fun, and so is this cookbook. The recipes aren't amazing, but they are realistic. And the book is beautiful!

I’ve already made the Vegetable Tortilla Stew and can confirm it's delicious and easy. And I will be making so many more of these recipes asap! Teigen has a great sense of humor, as evidenced by her recipe descriptions. FYI there is language about diets and weight gain, as well as drug and alcohol references, throughout, so exercise caution if these things are potentially triggering.

Yum I think I'd actually buy a hard copy of this book. Her recipes look really good, but it's her stories before each recipe that make this worth it. I don't think I've ever laughed so much while reading a cookbook.

36/52 books read in 2018. 12/20 bookshelf reads in 2018. Part 5 of the "OMG I need to figure out what to cook for Christmas" search... 7 books in total to get through (at least). Conclusion: still haven't found a dish for 5 people that I actually want to eat around Christmas, but I will be cooking a lot of Teigen food in 2019 ;) My earlier reviews still stand. 60/45 books read in 2017 22/23 bookshelf read in 2017. I absolutely adore Chrissy and this book did not disappoint. It is her humor combined with delicious, but easy, recipes. I am definitely looking forward to trying them all. Yes, I want to cook all of the recipes in this book and that doesn't happen often at all. I recommend the English version if you want to read her stories in her voice and the Dutch (or whatever your mother tongue is) version if you actually want to cook the recipes. It is so difficult to understand recipes in another language for some reason, so I have the Dutch hardback and an English ebook *hides*. Definitely recommend!

Chrissy Teigen, a model and celebrity, has a deep love for food. She filled this book with all of her favorite foods that she enjoys not only cooking, but eating as well. The book is peppered with witty comments, pictures of delicious food, glimpses into her life and family, and amazingly easy to execute recipes. The one thing this book doesn't have is desserts. This girl is hilarious. Even if you never intend to cook, the book is worth the price just for the funny things she says before each recipe. But the recipes are truly great. I've made a couple and they are delicious. And you don't need to be a great cook, since most of them are very easy to do. My overall opinion - amazing cookbook, hilarious notes, gorgeous pictures - totally worth every penny. I received this book free of charge from Blogging for Book in exchange for my honest review.

Chrissy Teigen has grown on me considerably lately - she seems funny, doesn't take shit and promotes a healthy and happy family life - all things I can get behind. It is a beautiful, funny cookbook packed with really enticing recipes that are not too complex or necessarily light on calories (though there is a good mix here of reasonably healthy and guilty pleasures). It's the first cookbook I've picked up in a long time that almost every single recipe I've got flagged with post-it reminders to "COOK ASAP!"
