Gone with the Wolf, by Kristin Miller is the first novel in her new series, Seattle Wolf Pack. Free-spirited and brash bartender Emelia Hudson wants nothing more than to make her Seattle-based bar succeed. She has poured her heart, soul and bank account into it, thinking she was the owner of the building, but she was the victim of a scam. The building belonged to the mega corporation Wilder Financial, whose CEO is alpha werewolf Drake Wilder. With a plan in her head to force a confrontation with Mr. Wilder, and win her building back, Emelia takes a temp job at the Wilder business. They meet under rather comical circumstances and the fur flies from there, because she is Drake’s Luminary, or soulmate. She’s also only human. Meanwhile Drake’s evil twin is plotting to take it all, the business, the pack and will stop at nothing to have it. Can Emelia allow herself to trust in Drake? Will Emelia live through the sibling rivalry? Kristin Miller did a great job creating humorous situations, and some of the banter between the characters was very appealing. She even turned up the heat as the romantic tension between Drake and Emelia grew! Still, I felt I was missing something, a deep connection to the characters that made them totally likeable and believable for me! Drake, well, he was a typical over-bearing alpha, but wore his blinders too often. Talk about clueless in Seattle! As for Emelia, she was over the top, um, too blue collar, overly crass, overly snarky when it wasn’t called for, just too much for me! A reverse snob! The redeeming character for me, you ask? Logan, with only a couple of appearances, he completely held my interest! Dark, mysterious and strong, with some attitude/resentment alluded to! This edition was provided by NetGalley and Entangled Publishing in exchange for my honest review. http://www.amazon.com/Gone-with-the-W...

Not to mention as a businessman Drake would not consider this 'agreement' legal without being signed and notarized in a legal Deed, or the like. Oh! And don't get me started how she freakin' disappears for three days when there's a crazy wolf who wants to kill her and he thinks she's being stubborn! It's like the ending was set in stone and the author couldn't stray from it. Cause it's total BS that he wouldn't be looking for her--I mean he doesn't think to check her BAR!!! AND how could he possibly not he have physical withdrawal symptoms or sense she was in DANGER! And, and, and, two-weeks notice???!!! What a TOOL! I thought it was going to be an unofficial deed to the bar! (hide spoiler)] And this is a shame because I really enjoyed this book up until then. You have your seriously feisty and naive heroine with an axe to grind and your seriously fussy businessman who has a stick up his ass. Her naughty behavior while working under him, especially on that first day cracked me up. What balls! And I'm not speaking of sex. However, I think the author nailed it on their lust-bond. I felt the way they were inexplicably drawn to each other. And, I felt Drake's attraction to her: there was one moment where he shifts down into the couch to position himself beneath her and it was really HOT! Most descriptions have the Hero crawling or hovering around the female and it's just so generic. And I DO enjoy a love scene written from the male perspective. I think more time or casual dates were needed to 'grow' their love-bond. But, I enjoyed the jumping in water scene and would have loved more darts or playing pool in the bar. A couple minor Issues: --Emilia sure doesn't seem to concerned about being turned. She doesn't ask a million questions, as one certainly would. Or isn't concerned about not aging or how to explain that to those around her. Not to mention the shock of near-immortality. --Why was her business doing poorly? Why didn't she wonder if it was due to Blake? I wondered that. And why wasn't Drake pissed at the tattoo parlor guy? Why didn't he insist on taking care of the prick, both as a business man and as a man of honor who says he'd always protect his woman. --Why did her skin shift from pale to tan after the middle of the book? Either is fine, just pick one. --in one paragraph, the pronoun hers is used when it should be his. I think at the drive-in?? That's it. This reviews seems like I'm slamming the book. But I really did enjoy it very much and these issues/inconsistencies kept me from enjoying it more. Fix them and the book will be stronger for it.

Emelia Hudson has a bone to pick with CEO Drake Wilder. His company now claims to own the deed to her bar and despite her relentless effort to meet with him and explain the situation, she has been given the brush off one too many times. When Drake stumbles onto Emelia at an office party, in an area she is not supposed to be in, Drake immediately senses the hostility from her but at the time she is not aware of who he is. Sensing she is his mate, Drake chances another meeting and realizes he has a long road ahead of him as the feisty determined Emelia continues to butt head with him. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The one dynamic I thought was quite entertaining was that Drake wants to take care of Emelia, he is three hundred years old and alpha, but Emelia is a free spirit and very expressive independent woman and she struggles with Drake's swoop in and take over approach. Look forward to the next in the series.

I love paranormal romance specially if it's a werewolf genre. There is just something about the mate thingy and when they say "mine" that is so possessive for me. Emelia is a great character, not your typical heroine in a werewolf genre. :) She's independent, feisty and full of sarcasm! She owns a bar called the Knight Owl She used all her savings to that place but now, CEO Drake claimed to have bought the building that her bar resides in. She couldn't let that happen. No matter how many letters I love paranormal romance specially if it's a werewolf genre. There is just something about the mate thingy and when they say "mine" that is so possessive for me. No matter how many letters Emelia sent or calls demanding to set an appointment to meet him- no one listened. So, she'd taken a job as a secretarial temp at his office, hoping to kill two birds with one stone. She'd make some money and figure out how to talk to him. Mine. “Why are you looking at me like that?” Emelia’s plump lips quirked. “Like what?” “Like you want to eat me.” Ah, hell Drake is my favorite here. He's your typical alpha were. He's smexy and all alpha possessive! He's the rightful heir to the wolf pack throne but he had a twin brother Silas, who wanted the position too. Their father made a decision that Who ever find their soul mate first will control the pack. Drake had given up the search to find his Luminary but when he found Emelia in a Halloween party, a human mate.. will changed everything. I love this book!!! It's a page turner that has the right amount of everything. The characters are well developed and the story just flows through me it was hard to put it down! A sexy read with lots of sexual tension. I love Drake and it was fun to see him become enamored with Emelia. There was this part when they need to attend a gala and he picked a dress that covers almost everything so that no other men would steal her.! hehe! “Emelia,” Drake breathed. “You’re mine. Forever.” If you're into paranormal romance, sexy read and alpha possessive hero then this one is for you! I'm definitely a fan now and I looking forward for the next Seattle Wolf Pack Series! ^_^

I absolutely loved Gone With the Wolf by Kristin Miller, I was addicted from the very first chapter. The descriptions of Emelia and Drakes first encounter were so good I couldnt help but smile and keep reading. Everything about Emelia screams independence and determination and Miller kept her true to her character throughout the entire book, not making Emelia sacrifice some key element of herself in order to catch her bosss attention gave the story some bonus points. Even though Drake Wilder (who stole my breath from his swoon worthiness) could certainly be considered a Greek God and an alpha werewolf/CEO he changed throughout the story which only made him so much better. Gone with the Wolf held me captivated from the very beginning. I was absorbed into both Emelia and Drake’s lives devouring each word like it was the last with my kindle glued to my hands, heart clenching and full of anticipation until the very end. Gone with the Wolf is an easy read (I’m not saying that to knock Kristin Miller at all! I simply mean that it flows and will keep you reading) filled with exciting turn of events, amazing scenes and a flawless writing style that made the story magic. Drake Wilder has decided that he really does not care for his own party and goes to have a taste of wine in his own wine cellar and discovers a slightly tipsy Emelia tasting some of his best wine and so begins one of the better Paranormal Romance stories I have read in awhile. Emelia has some past issues with Drake (which he is totally unaware of) and she does not know who he is at that first meeting, it was great. The book follows a bit of an unexpected path to get to a place where they can even be in the same room together and Emelia is a pain from time to time and Drake does a few stupid alpha male things to prove that age does not equal wisdom when it comes to independent woman like Emelia. There is a brother who does NOT want to see this romance to succeed and he will be a problem (did I mention he is a twin) Bottom Line: A really good light read with a few sinister overtones and situations but mainly this is a romance that they have to work at, you will enjoy it hopefully as much as I did.

Gone with the Wolf has Werewolf Alpha & CEO of Wilder Finance, Drake pitted against Bar Owner & Temp Secretary, Emelia. They had some funny moments, Emi was mad about him ignoring her emails & phone calls about the Bar and decided to get a temp job at Wilder Financial to get some inside dirt on him. However, Drake has a brother who wants to be Alpha and to do so needs to remove Emi, as she is his brother's mate (called luminary in this world). As Drake was such a sweetheart with Emi, Gone with the Wolf has Werewolf Alpha & CEO of Wilder Finance, Drake pitted against Bar Owner & Temp Secretary, Emelia. As Drake was such a sweetheart with Emi, except for a few instances, he never came across as a competent Alpha. There was too much telling & not enough showing for me. He never even beat Silas, the brother, when they were fighting. It did have all the feels and a very nice HEA, so I might well read further into the series.

Gone with the Wolf is the first in Kristin Miller's Seattle Wolf Pack paranormal romance series released by Entangled Publishing and the very first story I read from her. Gone with the Wolf started out well, I loved the the chuckle out loud Halloween wine cellar scene where the air sizzled and cracked with the tension and attraction between the hero and heroine but somehow after that the story just fizzled out. Gone with the Wolf was a quick and easy read, but it left me disappointed as I had Gone with the Wolf is the first in Kristin Miller's Seattle Wolf Pack paranormal romance series released by Entangled Publishing and the very first story I read from her. Gone with the Wolf started out well, I loved the the chuckle out loud Halloween wine cellar scene where the air sizzled and cracked with the tension and attraction between the hero and heroine but somehow after that the story just fizzled out. Gone with the Wolf was a quick and easy read, but it left me disappointed as I had several problems with it, both when it came to the characterisation and the writing. In Gone with the Wolf Kristin Miller mixes several tropes: the enemies to lovers, the mistaken identity, the boss and the secretary, and the fated mate tropes; and I felt it was a bit too much as she didn't have any effort/depth left for the development of the characters. The main characters remained shallow, I couldn't get a grasp on Emelia she ran hot and cold, while the villain remained a cardboard character, with not much detail giving him dimension. Emelia took the whole "werewolves exist and yep, I'm turning into one" a bit too easily in my opinion, while that could have provided some understandable and justified drama. I thought there were several plot holes, some more glaring than others, like *SPOILER ALERT* The big crisis at the end of the book: Emelia is abducted yet for three days Drake doesn't look for her even though 1) she disappeared after their fight, 2) she might be in danger from his psycho brother whois hellbent on killing her, 3) it was previously stated that he gets physically sick if he spends longer times away from her and 4) with their mate connection he didn't feel her fear and stress for three days? She disappeared, didn't come to work and he just shrugged, not really worried? I found that quite the glaring black plothole... *END OF SPOILER* As to the writing style, I felt that the story was still in its rough form and would have needed more/stricter editing to smooth things out. Some things were just thrown in the story without proper explanation or reason for their inclusion, dialogues at times read fractured as if the two person communicating weren't talking to each other: “And Raul, I need you to reschedule the business meetings from this afternoon to Monday. I have to take the rest of today to finalize the deal for Emelia’s bar.” Raul met Drake at the door. “I thought you said you were leaving the lawsuit in her hands.” “I am,” Drake said as rain battered the windows in a relentless onslaught. “I’m talking about the other bar. The one that’ll make her forget all about the Knight Owl.” “I’m sorry if this is overstepping my grounds, sir, but I overheard one of her guards talking…” Shit, here it comes. “From my understanding of what I heard, you told Emelia that a female turned werewolf wouldn’t be able to survive having an Alpha’s child.” what is the connection between buying a bar and siring children? There was also lot of "telling" rather than "showing" in this book, the author just gave explanations for the world-building in the characters' inner thoughts, which stood out, as those were things they already had to know... Verdict: All in all, I liked the concept of mashing several of my favourite tropes into one single story, but the execution was wilted. The story started off strong and my attention was instantly hooked at the starting scene, but after that both the plot, the characters and the development of their relationship read shallow, sketched, just thrown on the paper without much development or depth. The characters remained one dimensional and I wasn't really convinced that the hero and heroine shared more than a fated sexual attraction. Gone with the Wolf held promise on paper, but sadly didn't deliver. A quick and easy read, but in the end a meh story that could have been better. Plot: 6/10 Characters: 5/10 Writing: 6/10 Ending: 6/10 Cover: 9/10 - gorgeous cover! I have a hard time deciding between 2.5 or 3 stars, the story flowed easily but due to the above detailed problems I was left disappointed. ps. I was also wondering about why was the story titled Gone with the Wolf? There was one small detail that could serve as connection, namely that Drake's yacht was called Tara, but that didn't seem reason enough for choosing this title. So I'm sorry but the importance of why the author chose this title completely flew over my head.

Taking matters into her own hands she gets herself hired at his company with plans to get to him and convince him he's made a mistake. Alpha werewolf and CEO, Drake Wilder, gave up looking for his mate years ago... until she popped up in his life in the guise of his secretary dressed up as little red riding hood and helping herself to the good stuff in his wine cellar. When Drake's twin brother finds out that he has found his mate he will stop at nothing to stop the pair from making a permanent bond. If Drake and Emelia sort out their differences and tie themselves together, all of their father's wealth—and leadership of their pack—will be his... and his twin won't take that without a fight. My followers know that I'm not your typical paranormal romance fan. I don't like the alpha male type that is the standard of the genre, especially in werewolf stories. Why? I recently put my finger on it and the fact is... I'm a feminist when it comes to paranormal worlds. I want the heroine to be the hero's equal and for him to acknowledge it in some way. As soon as they heroes start saying "Mine!", I start hating the book. But Miller goes one further here. Not only is Emelia no shrinking flower against Drake's alpha werewolf personality, she's perfectly okay with wanting him while unwilling to give up what's important to her. I absolutely loved Emelia and as the climax of the story unfolded, Drake won me over too. As far as the plot goes... it was a little cliche, predictable, and has been done enough to be the weakest part of the story. The world building is mild, no big crazy curveballs or confusing terminology, just a straight-foward what-you-see-is-what-you-get type werewolf mythos, it's perfect for a category romance offering like this. The love scenes were scorching! If you like your romance smutty you're gonna be a GONE WITH THE WOLF fan. Overall, this is a great category paranormal romance with a strong feminist thread that really sets it apart from many of it's genre mates. It's sexy, smart, and just cheesy enough to fit nicely in the category romance niche. A RhiReading recommended read if you enjoy these elements. Notes: ARC received via publisher.

Emilia was lead to believe she was the owner of the building where she opened her bar, sadly enough she was conned. Emilia however believes Wilder Financial stole it from her. as the business slows down Emilia gets a second job working for Wilder Financial hoping she can do anything to get her bar back even if it means blackmailing the CEO. At the Christmas party she was hoping for her chance, instead she meets a sexy guy who can kiss the pants off of her. The next day she finds out she's been transferred to act as the CEO temp secretary and that when she finds out Mr. KissyFace at the Christmas party is the CEO. Drake Wilder gave up all hope to finding a mate he was ready just to hand the reigns over to his twin brother and just deal with it. He never expected to find her getting drunk on his expensive wine in his cellar and he really didn't expect her to be human. Drake was always lead to believe that a human wasn't strong enough to survive the pregnancy with an Alpha shifter, but he isn't going to give up so easily he is open an honest with Emilia that if she wants it they can have the relationship but there will be no children. Emilia wants to hate Drake, but after he gave her undisputed proof that she was conned she is a little more open to a relationship. Only that's not the only problem. Drake's twin brother isn't going to hand over the pack so easily.

I thought this story started off really good with the couple in the cellar. I had expected some high flying sparks after that. Though they did have some sparks, I just didn't feel that attraction between them. I didn't connect with them or this story. I felt the story had potential with the the direction the author was trying to take it in. However, I felt this one fell flat for me. I felt this book did more "telling" then "showing". I felt we got more "showing" from late middle to end. I thought we would get a little more action/drama with Drake's secretary yet... that didn't happen. She seemed to have dreamy eyes for him so why didn't we get a little action there? I also felt that Drake's Beta, Mr. Bloomfield, was a bit too formal and stiff for my liking as well. When Emelia went to work for Drake, as his personal secretary, I didn't like how she behaved by destroying some documents because she was upset over this injustice she felt against him. I also didn't like that humans who were turned in to were-wolves, could only turn at a full moon yet the ones who were born to that lifestyle could turn any time. One last thing. I felt the guy on the cover didn't portray Drake's physical appearance very well. Over all, I just couldn't connect with this story.

Enter feisty human Emelia Hudson who works part time as a temp at his company while struggling to keep her Seattle based bar alive. Drake and Emelia meet while she crashes his party's wine cellar and sparks fly. Drake now finds himself in a deadly predicament since he and twin brother Silas are in the run of becoming alpha of their packs but in order for one to be chosen he first has to find his Luminary. Silas has not found his and now Emelia's life is endanger. What will the outcome be? MY THOUGHTS: I'm definitely looking forward to the next installment in the series. Like I mentioned before, the pacing was slow at the beginning but thankfully it picked up. I really loved both Drake and Emelia and am hoping the next book to be on Drake's pack member Logan. His character was intriguing to me and made me want to know more about him while he was interacting with Emelia.

I got this book early for an honest review. First let me say that I love shifter books. It is one of my favorite in the paranormal genre, that and vampires. I also love erotic romances. This book fills both of those categories for me. I also need a HEA and I got that also. I LOVE this book!! Drake and Emie were just so HOT together. I also liked that Kristin let them build their feelings for each other before they actually had sex, meaning that it wasn't in the first couple of pages. But there was a connection in the first chapter like the description says because she is his luminary, his mate. Anyone who reads shifter books knows that they connect when they find their mate. There were times that I laughed and cried. Drake's brother Silas was just evil. Now I am not going to say anymore because that would give away the story. I think you should read this book if you like erotic, hot, Alpha werewolves and a good romance. This was part one of the Seattle pack and I am looking forward to the rest.

All sorts of chemistry, drama, and danger in this story that keep you enthralled in the story. I loved every moment! I highly recommend this series to members of the pack as well as any PNR lover! You will find a great story right here!

This book surprised me in a very good way. I was leery at first of this 'fated to be mated' plot, fearful that it would be like the many that have come before it. But it was unlike any of them. The chemistry between Emelia and Drake was fiery, tumultuous, and totally believable. Emelia's spunk has me cheering for her and Drake's tenderness had me swooning for him. The romance between them develops at a perfect, slow pace, despite their instant attraction. I'll be looking for more of this This book surprised me in a very good way. I have had Gone with the Wolf on my kindle for a long time but forgot about it until today when I was in the mood for some sexy shifters. I thought the world was interesting but the execution wasn't quite there. The characters were likable enough, though the heroine was a little all over the place, but my main issues was the dialogue wasn't entirely natural and the villain wasnt quite believable. Maybe if I didn't read so much PNR then I would have liked it more.

This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review I don't really know where to go with this review... Gone with the Wolf started off really great, I was having a good time and then it just suddenly fell flat... If you had asked me how I felt about this book when I had only read half of it, I would have told you it was fun, sexy and I was really loving it. But now that I've completed the book I can't really say that much for the second half. I also don't know if the same characters This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review I don't really know where to go with this review... Gone with the Wolf started off really great, I was having a good time and then it just suddenly fell flat... If you had asked me how I felt about this book when I had only read half of it, I would have told you it was fun, sexy and I was really loving it. But now that I've completed the book I can't really say that much for the second half. I also don't know if the same characters continue into the next part of this series because there is no indication as to what's actually happening in the second part of this series. Will it be new characters? Will we continue with Drake & Emilia's story? I really can't tell you because I have absolutely no idea. But what I can tell you is that if this story continues with a second book, it might actually make me feel better about this book in the end... but only a fraction better. Here are my issues: • Like I said, all went well during the first half of the book. From half-way onwards... it was just boring and I had to force myself through the rest of it. • Emilia started to annoy me at one point. Don't get me wrong, I really liked her in the beginning, but I felt as if she just didn't grow much during the book... even though she finds out something that's majorly life altering... she didn't change at all. She remained as stubborn as she was from the start and I can't put my finger on it... she just turned out to be really bland. • Drake was ok. Not a top Alpha male or Alpha wolf rather. He ended up just really being part of the furniture and not a prominent part in Gone with the Wolf. • The break in the plot was strange. Not at all what I expected and definitely not descriptive enough. This plot ended up being another case of where the author knew what was happening while she wrote the book, but she doesn't convey it across well. I still don't know what really happens with Drakes wealth since it should go to his brother, but then his brother is evil and... surly that should make for a change? I just don't know. But I guess it's not that important since it's really not of much importance. It's just that everything felt as if it began but just didn't develop into anything interesting and there are many missing final outcomes in Gone with the Wolf. --> So whats Gone with the Wolf all about? Well... first off it's written in 3rd person... a writing style I really don't like... I can't seem to connect well with characters when I'm not inside their heads... so already, that was a negative for me. The book takes off from this part in the summary: "Free-spirited bartender Emelia Hudson wants nothing more than to make her Seattle-based bar succeed. But when profits decline, she slips into a dress suit and secures a nine-to-five. After learning that her bar has become property of Wilder Financial, Emelia is determined to get some answers." If you didn't read the summary, you'd be lost as to what's actually happening in the beginning and as to why she's doing what's she's doing. You do get a recap later on but like I said, if you don't remember the summary before you start the book, you'd be lost. I actually had to come back and re-read it just to see why it was I wanted to read this in the first place. So yip... another negative for me. Another aspect I didn't get was that according to Drake, Emilia was his soul-mate. But then why deny it for so long? I love insta-love books but I don't like insta-love denial at all - because then it's not true insta-love. Also, Emilia didn't really get the connection at first. She didn't know what it meant of course... but she also didn't pick up on this supposed bond they should have been sharing... it was again... strange and didn't work well for me. I also didn't find Drake very passionate towards Emilia. It wasn't a real Alpha Wolf type reaction. Other than that, I really do hope that this tale continues into the next part of the series. It didn't end particularly well. I didn't feel content when I finished it. I honestly really just felt lost and a little surprised that after the effort that was spent into putting together the plot, it just ended with a wham bam and... the end. I really wanted this book to be a wow, but it just wasn't and that's disappointing. ♥ For More Reviews Visit My Blog CBL Book Reviews ♥ Keep Updated by Liking My Facebook Page

Rating's Breakdown: Quality of writing: Good Pace: Mostly even but had a few moments where it felt mildly staccato. Characters: Likeable overall. Plot development: Good. Although I felt that there could have been more depth in the conflict with Silas. Story line: Unique and humorous. Heat Level: MildMy Thoughts: This book was provided by NetGalley for an honest review. In a nutshell... I enjoyed this story of a big bad alpha wolf meeting his mate in a smart-mouthed fire cracker of a woman...a human woman, at that. The story was paced well and the interaction between Drake and Emelia was flirty, fun (mostly from her), and intense (mostly from him). They were truly each others yen and yang. I think readers of contemporary romances will also enjoy this book even though it was slated as a paranormal romance/urban fantasy. There are elements of the book that felt quite Harlequin-esque. You know the elements: the rich, formidable and brooding man holding "something" over the feisty female head while exchanging quips and battling wills and their growing attraction for one another. The story definitely carried that feeling at the beginning...it's what drew Emelia to Drake in the first place. I appreciated that component of the story a great deal. The paranormal world... The paranormal element was not bad although it was not as strongly represented as I have seen it in other shifter stories. There was talk of alpha and wolves and such but not much display of the paranormal until Silas entered the story at almost the midway point. Although the mate issue was unique, it bordered on strange in this shifter tale. The Luminaries (aka wolf soul mates) experienced symptoms that resembled a drunken stupor when they met their fated mate. Additionally, the male experienced flu-like symptoms when he was away from his luminary for an extended period. It was odd. Not bad just.......odd. A word about the bad guy... Sadly, Silas, Drake's twin brother, just wasn't a convincing enough bad guy for me. He was more bluff and bluster than anything else. Yes, he did follow through with his actions -- especially when he attacked Emelia and later abducted her -- but his role as a bad guy felt bland. I would liked to have read more about him and seen how his threats escalated against Drake and Emelia. He just didn't pack a significant punch as a convincing bad guy. He needed more sinister :). In a few words... Gone with the Wolf was a good pairing of the best elements of a contemporary romance and a paranormal romance. All in all a very enjoyable read.

Great Job! Emelia Hudson has had a really bad few months.. first off her fiance, the one who demanded they have a big wedding, decides to run off with one of the strippers from his bachelor party, leaving her at the proverbial alter.. then she finally gets enough money to buy her bar.. slaving to do it on her own.. and now to find out another company claims to own the entire building? And they don't even bother returning your emails... Seriously, what's a girl to do? *grins* Emie gets a temp job at the company with every intention of infliterating her way to the top. When that doesn't work, she attends the company halloween party with every intention of seducing the big boss, typing him to his bed, taking pictures and posting them on the net.. ok.. so maybe not such a great plan.. Too bad the big bad doesn't bother to show up for the party. Instead she ends up sneaking off to the wine cellar to have some of the good stuff by her little ole self.. When Drake Wilder finally makes it to the party he finds little red riding hood sneaking the booze in his wine cellar. Already just a little bit tipsy. Drake is totally smitten and that's before he realizes she is his Luminary.. Now that throws him for a total loop as he had finally given up on finding her. Now all he has to do is convince her he's not such a bad guy, figure out just why she hates him, convince her that she wants to turn into a werewolf and oh yeah protect her from his more than slightly psycho twin (yep, there's an evil twin) who wants to control the pack.. Just their father's rules stated first mated gets the pack.. the other one gets his financial empire. Silas doesn't want the financial empire he wants it all and is willing to do just about anything to get it. Including cluing Emie in on their rather unique lifestyle. Seriously, bonded to a wolf next thing you know Vampires will be real as well.. Even though these two have to stand together to fight off Silas, that is not the big battle in this book. This story is about learning to accept the other for who he/she is. Drake has to maybe loosen up just a bit and learn to think with his emotions and Emie has to learn that maybe flying off the handle with some crazy scheme might not be the best way to handle things.. A really fun Story! I am really excited that I got in at the beginning with this series.. Can't wait to read more. Just imagine someone in big business has stolen the deeds to the bar you’ve been struggling to run for years and won’t talk to you about it. What could you do to get to them? In this case Emelia Hudson (aka Emie) takes herself undercover, getting a job as a temp in the company. While attending the office Hallowe’en party she sneaks into the wine cellar where she indulges herself with some tasty – and very expensive – wine. It is here that alpha werewolf Drake Wilder discovers her and the attraction is off the wall especially as he realises she is both his mate and human! He has been brought up to believe that no human can successfully give birth to the offspring of an alpha, he also knows that Emelia may now be in danger if his psychotic twin realises Drake has found his mate. To top it all, Emelia knows nothing of the werewolves, so how will this feisty, independent young woman react to everything that she’s about to learn? Will they live to achieve their HEA together? This is a story packed with action and humour. Three hundred year old Drake is a take charge type of guy, one brought up in a different era when women knew their place was in their home with a strong male to look after them . . . but Emelia has grown up in a different time and is a free spirit, not looking to have her life taken control of by someone else – and certainly not by the very same person that threatens the existence of her dream bar! Both characters are brilliantly portrayed and the story has an intriguing plot that makes it interesting reading. I have no hesitation in looking forward to reading other novels in this series, especially as I’m reading the box set which has books 1 to 3 in the series! It’m looking forward to seeing how the characters and series develops. I’m impressed by the author’s skill in crafting the secret werewolf world within the city and imaginative storytelling so have no hesitation in highly recommending it to other fans of paranormal werewolf romances with a strong alpha and feisty female lead.

Gone with the Wolf is a pretty standard destined to be together Paranormal Romance, but I still really enjoyed it! Emelia is a struggling bar owner who just learned that some big corporation also holds the deed to her bar. After getting no response on the matter, Emelia manages to get hired as Drakes temp secretary to take matters into her own hands. However, she doesnt expect to be attracted to him, and he certainly never expected to find his mate in this manner. However, she doesn’t expect to be attracted to him, and he certainly never expected to find his mate in this manner. Now Drake is torn between business and pleasure, and keeping Emelia safe from his twin brother. Gone with the Wolf is a lot of fun from the very beginning. Emelia is not shy about going after what she wants and does flirt Drake up a lot even while glaring daggers at the man she believes it out to steal her business. I loved how she didn’t get intimidated by him and continued to fight for what she believed was right, while also getting some hot makeout sessions in. Those two have instant chemistry and it was great seeing them go from hate to love! Although it’s not exactly hate; Emelia is just very passionate about her business and wants it back and this sexy werewolf is in her way. The plot was surprisingly well developed for being such a short story. Not only do we have Emelia trying to get the deed to her bar back, but Drake’s brother wants control of the pack and he’ll do anything to have it. Of course this means using Emelia as leverage. It’s fairly typical and predictable, but there were a couple of fun surprises along the way. Emelia is no wilting flower even when she’s being held hostage by a mad man! Gone with the Wolf was just a fun read. Emelia and Drake are wonderful together. The plot moves at a fast paced without feeling underdeveloped. I like how werewolves work in this series, too, so I’m excited to read more. Read more of my reviews at Pinkindle Reads & Reviews.

He makes decisions that are very business like (not a bad thing), but he doesn't explain why he's doing things at times. Which causes friction. As I'm sure you can imagine. He eventually learns from his mistakes, but it takes a while. And Emelia is... I don't know. Most of my issues with her stemmed from her hardheadedness. Which, if she had been clued in to what Drake was earlier, probably wouldn't have been an issue. But since the guy likes to play his cards close to the vest, she was left out of the loop. It sounds like I didn't like the book, but I did. The pack dynamics were... well, Drake and his brother are all sorts of messed up. I'm curious about Logan after the glimpse we got of him in this book and I'm kinda ready to pick up book 2 now. So I will. -Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal

What good would it do to dig it back up and show it to me?" Overall the story was an enjoyable and interesting read. The dialogue interaction between Drake and Emelia was witty and unique especially when you think about their age differences. The book was an ARC given to me for an honest review, thank you.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and read it in a day, letting the family go hungry!! Lol. The characters are great and you can totally relate to them. I don't like spoilers so will just say that the book is about a handsome rich werewolf who has been searching for his soulmate for years, and comes across her by chance, and there starts the story of how to win her over, with lots of action, twists and turns. This is one of those feel good paranormal romance reads that pits an male alpha against a bull headed human female who is fated to be his mate (luminary). It's a tug of war sort of romance and a battle of the sexes that has a few twist and turns that add an excitement value. Emelia wants to meet Mr. Wilder at the employee party instead she meets Drake, the tall dark stranger who she has an electrifying connection with. Later she finds out he is Mr. Wilder, the multi million dollar mogul who owns her bar that she believes she owns. Throw in a fight between Drake and his Twin for the seat of Alpha. Another surprisingly good story with lots a sweet romantic interactions and some dangerous rogues mixed in.

First and only read of this series for me. The h was dumb and stubborn as hell. Who gives someone $50,000 without making sure they are on the up and up?!? The H wasn't honest which caused a great deal more drama than needed. But I guess it was a way to fill the pages.
