First, can't help noticing all the reviews complaining about liberal bias, etc. This of a book that claims that socialists "like Eugene Debs" (in jail iirc) were in charge of the economy after WWI - for example. I don't know. Maybe someone saw the author's name, misread as -"Jon Stewart"- (who used to host the Daily Show) and went directly to review without passing "I'll read this first"? As is, I don't think I can get past halfway in, but at least I'm fairly sure I haven't got the author wrong. A bit of a dry read, not really entertainment as one might imagine. Amazing facts, that one might not know or remember, especially in this day and age with politics. Sometimes you just need to refresh your memory. Advisable for many. You might have to change your thinking.....

A non realistic history! I had hoped to read a quick and well sourced American history. What I got was the rantings of an unhappy man who makes such ridiculous claims that police departments will limit their hiring to not accept one having an above average IQ! It appears to be written by an unhappy socialist.

Review of American history Great history book until the last chapter which became very rhetoric and opinionated . Not what I had expected in the first chapters.
