Poetry with a Spiritual Twist

Spirituality... such an open-ended concept... unified by what? A desire to be at peace... the delight of visions which suddenly extract us from what we think is real. Alternative thought or old-time lessons of compromise... what is real? What is experience... experiences that transform us into knowing what we saw... knowing what we perceived... no longer subject to someone Spirituality... such an open-ended concept... unified by what? A desire to be at peace... the delight of visions which suddenly extract us from what we think is real. Alternative thought or old-time lessons of compromise... what is real? What is experience... experiences that transform us into knowing what we saw... knowing what we perceived... no longer subject to someone else's opinion, but our own... now authenticated... by our own enlightenment! How much better can it get? How do you understand spirituality? Does it have to be revealed with boundaries? Can it be simplistic as well as profound? When it is revealed, write about it... PHILOSOPHY OF MY LIFE Never regret what you have done, Never take Life for granted. Reflect only upon here and now, Where your feet are Presently planted. Be happy, Don’t take it personal. Be free, Prepare a positive arsenal. Battle thy prisons, Free the soul, Seek the seasons, All the infinite glory to unfold. LOVE Love at Last, Founded upon truth. A spiritual fast, No longer proof Of a life well lived. Spiritual steadiness, Spiritual readiness, All of which I cherish. Spring, winter, fall, None of which matter at all. Life, death, all the rest, None of which befall The soul’s eternity. I, LIKE THE MOODS OF THE SKY I, like the moods of the sky Always to beautify Even the most sleepy eye. Rely not on the dreams of sleep The subconscious keep Of the ego lays. Instead open your eyes Try yet to fly Through the pearls of clouds. Not a shroud Of limited hopes Of narrow thoughts elope. Out of your sight For it is no more No ceiling, nor floor Expansive and free ever more. TREE THROUGH MY WINDOW Feathery movement through my window I feel through my eyes what I cannot touch. In winter, when you shed your leaves You allow me to see a complete view. In summer, when you are full to the brim You become the view itself. Three years we've spent together. But now I must move on. Soon you will be another's Tree And soon another person will be yours. The wind I love, But couldn't see But for the sake of you. Blow, blow, show the storm. Gust, gust my friend. When you are still, I feel less calm. I must then show the movement within myself.

I enjoyed the poetry especially Motherhood. It was a good journey through different phases of the author's life.
