After a tornado tears through her neighborhood in the middle of the night, twenty-one-year-old Sarah Simmons is determined to gather up her most precious belongings before leaving her badly damaged home. But the huge, handsome firefighter who arrives to rescue her makes it clear that the house could collapse at any moment, and when Sarah refuses to do as she is told he merely tosses her over his shoulder and carries her to a waiting ambulance himself. Though Sarah is perhaps the most stubborn woman he has ever met—let alone pulled from the ruins of a building—John Ford knows right away that there is something special about her. He checks on her at the local hospital later that night, and after seeing the miserable, lonely look on her face, he does his best to comfort her. When she insists on trying to leave without the doctor’s permission, however, he decides that enough is enough and spanks her bare bottom thoroughly. Upon discovering that Sarah is an orphan with nowhere to go after the destruction of her home, John takes matters into his own hands and offers to share his house with her. But while she lives under his roof she will be expected to behave herself, and failure to do so will have consequences for her cute little bottom. To Sarah’s surprise, John’s old-fashioned approach to keeping a woman in line excites her deeply. She can’t help longing for him to claim her properly, and when he takes her in his arms the pleasure of his skilled, dominant lovemaking is more intense than she would have thought possible. But even as her passion for him grows, Sarah’s painful past leaves her hesitant to let herself fall in love. Can John find a way to heal her wounded heart before he loses her forever? Publisher’s Note: The Firefighter’s Woman includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

Sarah has been living in limbo since losing both of her parents. Since her father died just before high school graduation, she has been staying at home and living off of her inheritance for several years. She didn't continue her education or even get a job. A tornado hit her neighborhood and her house is falling down around her. Sarah is determined to collect the items she holds dear -- family photos, her parents' urns, and her mother's engagement right. John grabs her and puts her in a fireman's hold on their way out, slapping her fanny in good measure. At the hospital, John is drawn to the girl so alone. As he sits with her, he learns that she is an orphan with no close friends or family. John understands that too well. He is an orphan, too. AND he knows how to fix her -- by occuping her time with a new job and him. A fun romance with lots of spanking.

Dear Authors in this genre, Please get off your middle-class high horses and stop blaming the poor and working-class for problems that our society's lack of a social net creates. Sincerely, A reader who isn't classist (look it up, if you don't know what that means)

I enjoy every book this author writes and this one was as good as I expected. I always expect a heroine I can like and laugh at and Sarah was just that. Full of sass and feisty but the reasons behind it were not easy for her to deal with. John is exactly what she needs even though she has absolutely no idea she needs anything. Together they were combustible and their chemistry flew off the page at you. Great read that I read in one sitting because I could not put it down, seriously. Whenever I see a new book by Loki Renard, I have to read it and I've never been disappointed. This is a fast paced page turner that starts out with a young woman who survived a massive storm event and is saved by a firefighter and it's hot from the start and continues till the end. A relationship develops and grows and matures. Loki Renard is one of my top five favorite spanking authors that said, this story is very good but it could have been better. I felt the characters needed more development. I felt like it was waffling between being a romance and ageplay romance. Also it was short, almost 20% of it was ad's of her other books. One hopes ms. Renard will fix it sometime it would then be a 5 star book.
