She moves in with her family at a ranch in Texas to start over. Turns out that the ranch owner is one of the most gorgeous men she’s ever laid eyes on. But she has to forget about him. She’s too young and inexperienced for him, not to mention his son’s nanny. Little does she know that her aunt’s got it all planned out. Ranch owner Lance is every woman’s dream with his tousled hair and blue eyes. But underneath the muscles and sun-kissed skin, this wounded cowboy hides his scars. He’s focused on his work and his little son. He has no time for love. But everything changes when he sees Brie that first day, all curves, beauty and warmth. Is this wrong? Is this right? Despite their age difference and working relationship, Lance and Brie can’t deny the attraction. Will Brie be able to move past her loss and start her first relationship? Can Lance let his walls down and give into his feelings? Can they be a family and enjoy a simple life of love and joy together? NOTE: This book includes 5 bonus stories! No chemistry; no build up 1.5 stars Only read the first story. I don’t want to spend too much time leading up to the review. The pros: the author seems like she may have potential. The cons: 1. There was zero build up to the relationship. She’s a nanny for a couple weeks with almost no contact or words spoken between them; then suddenly he’s telling her that he’s into her ( emotionally not just sexually), wants a relationship with her and has no problem involving his son/others. 2. We Never see them connect emotionally; we’re just told this happened over a span of a couple months that are skipped over. 3. Physically, Again, there’s no showing what happens between them. We’re told, oh we spent a couple months on foreplay/oral and then I had sex for the first time and he was gentle. It’s a retelling, we’re never brought into a scene in a he bedroom. 4. No angst or suspense. I kept expecting something with her father to pop up, considering her mom had visited the ranch about a year before her birth and they KEPT talking about how hurtful it was that her mother kept her away. What was the reason for that? All in all, boring, I’m sad to say. I forced myself to finish it. Advice to the author: one of the first things you learn in creative writing is to Show the reader the characters, actions, etc. not Tell the reader. Please keep that in mind.

The Rancher's Virgin is my first book by Ava Walsh. This is actually a collection of short stories. Brie has just lost her mother and moves to Texas to live with her aunt. Lance is the ranch owner that Brie's aunt works for and he hires Brie to babysit his son. Their story is full of drama, humor and spice. I think this book is for a younger audience than me because the writing seemed juvenile, but I'm old and everyone doesn't like the same writing styles. What a cute love story!!!! Brie and Lance meet when she moves from NY to TX. Instant attraction which I love! They are so perfect for each other and more importantly Logan loves her too!!! My fave saying in this book is: I tried to eat healthy to drop the extra twenty or so points that I was carrying around, but sometimes a girl just needed bacon and cheese in her life! YAS!!!!!

Touching story This is a nice quick read. The tenderness of Brie and Logan is perfect. Not to much drama or unappealing sex. Nice and slow, just as a good love story should be. Kudoos!!! to the writer.

Hot and heavy This book is packed with hours of hot escapades in it's multi stories. I liked the fact that the stories were short and I could take a break and read other books inbetween.
