JAKOB I didn’t deserve her, but I desired her regardless. I saw her and wanted her innocence as my own, to mark her so every other man knew she belonged to me. And even though I knew better than to go after her, I wouldn’t stay away. I couldn’t. She’d be mine no matter what. Screw the repercussions it might have. Forget the fact I would be corrupting her. Poppy was all JAKOB I didn’t deserve her, but I desired her regardless. Poppy was all I wanted. I was never a patient man when it came to the things I desired. And Poppy was at the top of that list. POPPY I saw the way Jakob looked at me: possessive, needy, territorial. I wanted to be his despite the fact we’d never spoken. He was older than me, had a job that only real men can handle, and still I longed to see him every day when I went to the mines. I knew that one of these days I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from making it known that he was all I wanted. I was nervous, innocent in all the ways that count to a man like Jakob. But for him—with him—I wanted to try it all. I wanted to experience what it’s like to get really dirty. Warning: This is super short, fast, and right to the point. You won’t get any drama here. It’s filthy and hot and leaves nothing to the imagination, but then again, you wouldn’t be here if you wanted it long and drawn out. *wink*

I love to be positively surprised 😊 This book is a sweet safe hot smut, but has a very unusual for CR and great, IMO, trope with older brother, who actually DOES support his young sister and DOESN'T forbid her and his friend to date. Are you shocked too? *lol* When did you read such storyline last time? I even can't remember a single book with an older brother who said: ”…but you are also a grown woman and know what you want. I’d be a hypocrite.” Be prepared to be shocked more… No billionaire. No manwhore. The heroine WASN'T a virgin!!! NO breeding! NO unplanned pregnancy! They waited for two years to marry, so she could finish the school. They say lame, I say HELL YEAH!!! Sign me up!

3.5* This is a fabulous short smutty read and it makes a nice change from all the billionaires to have a hot working man, a miner as one of the main characters. A man who's body has been shaped and muscled through manual labour not the gym. Plus there's not a virgin in sight.....I know gasp! Now don't get me wrong I love the older man/younger virginal woman reads and I kind of hoped/assumed in the beginning that Poppy had saved that for Jakob but then it was also nice that this book was different. Great job with the cover of this one. Good representation of the hero and story. Good use of graphics. Good composition and title work. This review is going to be rather short because the book itself was super short. I liked it well enough. There wasn't anything new here, but I wasn't expecting it to be different either. I loved how caveman like Jakob is , how he is serious about his woman, Poppy. But, will Jakob finally take what he knows is meant to be his? And will Poppy admit she only wants him and him only? This is one sassy, sexy and alpha filled romance novella. My Rating: 4.6 stars ***** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***

This book is exactly what it says it is - a short and steamy story about a hard working manly man who decides it's time to get his girl. It's fast, so it's not complicated - and if you clicked it, you know that going in - but there was still enough character development for you to engage with the hero & heroine & cheer for their HEA. A good read for a quick bookish escape for time poor smutty romance lovers. 5 star I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, and dirty talking naughty fun. This is Poppy and Jakob’s story. She is innocent and forbidden but that does not stop him from wanting her. He is older but that is also not an issue. He wants her and he is going to have her. She wants him even if she does not understand all her feelings. She looks for him when she goes into the mines and she sees that he is looking at her. The heart wants what the heart wants. Aggravating. Ughhhh. This author does this way too much; the book blurbs imply or lead one to believe that her heroine is innocent and inexperienced (ie a virgin) and then when you get into the book the heroine has already been broken in by another guy. What’s the point? If you’re gonna make the heroine innocent, make her innocent, give us that emotional connection and bond that comes from never having had another dude’s d$ck claim her. Instead she senselessly has the heroine *seem* innocent but Aggravating. Ughhhh. How can you not love a Jenika Snow hero?? Jakob was everything a hero should be sweet when it was needed but rough when you wanted it. Poppy was a sweet young thing that had only ever wanted Jakob. These characters were made for each other. Read this book you will not be disappointed.

Super sweet and spicy! This is my first Jenika Snow book, and won't be my last. I enjoy stories about the average guys, so seeing one about a coal miner was cool. It was a good read, if very short (I finished in 30 mimutes). This is an older man/younger girl type of book. Jakob has been interested in Poppy for awhile now but thinks she is too young for him. The Coal Miner's Sister This is a cute short about two people deciding to do something about their crush...on each other. It's an instalove story, but the gritty Alpha doesn't need to be a billionaire or a scary outlaw type to "claim his woman." And the "woman," like her hero, manages to avoid obvious cliches on her way to their happy ending.

Now I want a coal miner.... I swear every book Jennika Snow writes, I end up needing the kind of man she writes about. Whether it's from the Animal Series, or another I always crave the alpha male hero she has written about. That's how enraptured you become while reading her books. This is no different so pick it up and read it....you won't regret it I promise you that!!

Love at first sight!!! Another wonderful story from this series. Jenika brought us Jakob and Poppy. Jakob only knows work and there nothing else until he meets his friends baby sister, but the only thing that he was thinking is making her his Babygirl. Poppy felt head over heels with Jakob, one look was enough to know he was It for her. Felt in love with this hot couple 😁
