Advancement in space was the only way left for those on earth. The Billionaire recounts most of the events in Martian Dictator and the decisions made aboard the vessel. From the recruitment of the main characters to the tough decisions that had to be commanded in order for the crew to survive, this man showed everyone the singleness of mind that got him where he was in life.   Oyvind Harding writes in a direct, factual style, which makes this an enjoyable read, humorous at times. Martian Dictator takes a logical approach in knife fights, daily survival, and space life. With murder and suspense on everyone’s mind the reader gets to see this novel unfold in unexpected ways. Harding hits on a subject few would touch, cannibalism. Though introduced as a key for living it wasn’t needed once the greenhouse was operational, but someone seems to think it is.

This is not your regular sci-fi book. Sure, it has space travel, Mars, spaceship and other common ingredients, but is more fixated on psychological thriller angle than on pure sci-fi. The plot is pretty basic, it is a mission to Mars where everything goes wrong and the crew must resort to some desperate measures to survive. And boy, some of it is pretty out there. I love the writing and the fact that tonally it is somewhat all over the place, but it kind of fits. Sometimes it is exciting, sometimes tense, sometimes funny, sometimes gruesome, and sometimes, somehow, everything at the same time. I can see that maybe it is not for everyone and honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it to absolutely anyone I know, but if you are in the right mood and ready for something a bit twisted, this book is very worthy of spending some time with it. Interesting, cool and different, for sure.

Creative Page turner! A creative plot with science and space as the theme. Landing human on Mars is the topic of talk these days and this story takes you for a ride on fiction road where a billionaire and his crew lands on Mars. The landing on red planet works well, but then disaster happens and they are unable to return to earth. A dream of landing on a far planet, show off to cameras and come back turns into a nightmare with suspense, mystery and survival story. The story is quite interesting, Creative Page turner! This was a great book for a sci-fi lover like me. Please don't be discouraged that this is an indie book. This book is as good, if not better, as any other well known sci-fi adventure. The books talks about probably not so distant future when first colonisators land on Mars. Author has thought about many little details which makes this story pretty believable which is great. The space ship description and landing are very detailed and interesting. Also, the story telling is interesting because action changes from the first person perspective to third person perspective. The time frame changes too. But all the descriptions are not the best part of this book. The most interesting are characters and things that happen and how they deal with these problems. However I loved this book, I have to warn some of the possible readers that this book is pretty dark. If you are looking for likable characters then this is not for you. The main character is the kind of man who will do everything to reach the goal. I find this very interesting because sometimes you just want to read about the bad guys. The first person perspective part of the book happens from his point of view. Other characters all are very different, but at the same time they are similar too. Like everyone is pretty rough around the edges and thinks only about himself. This book is not about heroic acts. And please understand that I don't criticize it, I find it interesting, more believable. If you are looking for a dark sci-fi adventure about not so distant future and a pretty evil lead character then this book is for you! Five stars out of five!
