This was a GoodReads giveaway of a Kindle ebook. Three separate books have been bundled together to form this trilogy. I never know if I am supposed to review the books separately or just as a complete package. This review will be as a complete package. I have the disadvantage of zero prior experience with the character, Pete Nazareth. My impression is that I should have read book #1 first to get behind the character. It was not a necessary read, but it would have made the reading flow better. I This was a GoodReads giveaway of a Kindle ebook. I kept thinking this book series as more about the partnership. I was a bit disappointed to see the partner play such a secondary character role. But then again, it is subtitled as a Detective Pete Nazareth book, so I should have seen it coming. I liked book #4 the most. I liked the setup and story progression. It read as a complete story on its own. The ending hinted at future evils to be discovered. For a trilogy, book #5 did not suffer from "middle book" syndrome. But this trilogy failed for me in the last book #6. It just seemed to rush the ending (justice) of the White House Traitors. A serious sub-plot fault. Our heroes are given personal biometrical locked IDs that will enable them access to America's last ditch command center. NO mention of what it means to their 4-month old infant. What parent would even consider leaving an infant during an event requiring the parents to seek refuge in a hardened bunker? And there is not a parent out there that would accept such a powerful and deadly device near an infant who has not been also approved for the card. One drop of drool and only bad things would result. It is just not going to happen. Have a GoodReads.
