Okay, so this book got me much more interested in this series. But it took 62% for that to happen. The first 62% seriously was damn near for nothing. Not a lick of anything important happened. There was a little bit of smut but no sex. And there was a part with some howling wind. That was seriously it. But then you hit that 62% mark and shit absolutely hit the damn fan! It got insane. Everything was like a whirlwind throwing things at you that you were not expecting but kind of wanted to happen b Okay, so this book got me much more interested in this series. Everything was like a whirlwind throwing things at you that you were not expecting but kind of wanted to happen before that 62% mark. And that's why I can only give this three stars. Even though this one was muuuuuuch better than the first, it still took too long to get anywhere. From the very first page of the first book you know the reason for the whole series. And that's that Sophie needs to get to Elowen because Mother Nature is forcing her to. But you don't get anything during the first book or the first 62% of this book that has to do with that quest. Seriously, I'm not kidding. It took the whole first book and over half of the second book for the storyline to start finally playing out. Hopefully now that the ending of this book was absolutely insane the third book will be much better.

I am not complaining as it keeps things interesting! Sophie has collected quite the group of vulnerable guys, each one has a special place in my heart. I can't wait to see what their next move is, especially given that ending!

Though sometimes predictable, the book was good one. Continuing from where book 1 left off, this book is better read as a part of the series and not as a standalone. For those who read it as a standalone might not enjoy the book as much as those who read it as a series will. The plot & characters are engaging and keep you on tenterhooks through out. A good book 2 in the series and 1 know most people will enjoy. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Omg sooooo good. There's something about September’s writing that i'm all about. I love all these characters so much. There's normally at least one that irritates the living hell out of me, but they are all so precious So much emotion in this book but I can see how people would find it a bit boring but i love the slowness of it all. It sucks that Jonas is still being a ass but it makes so much sense why he's being one. I really love Valor, the angry broken ones always gets me. The scene with Hagan, Omg sooooo good. The scene with Hagan, Sophie and Cary was hot as hell and so well written that it didn't feel dirty at all. It was funny without it trying to be. Totally see so mm in the next book ( maybe Cary and Valor *One can only wish) Poor Sophie Mae really gets screwed over ( not in the good way) Jesus that ending!!! Cant wait fort till May to find out how everything gets wrapped up.

Yaaasss!!!!! 💥🎆💥 🎆 Ooo this is was so much better than first book and I really liked the first book. Hey to start things in the beginning Hagan is still healing from the beating he took from Louis. So they have waited to go to Elowen until he can move. With that Hagan, Cary, and Sophie’s relationship has grown significantly into acceptance of each other and their predicament. Valor and Jonas are still around but Jonas is still being the rear end of a donkey and Valor is punishing himself for all he did without his conscience. As things progress we find out that “Mother” actually isn’t Mother Nature but something far worse and its goal is to in fact inflict harm on Elowen than to seek help from her. We also learn more about Elowen and Valors relationship. How twisted it was. Elowen isn’t some wonderful mage who enjoys helping people. She is what we would call a necessary evil 😈. But she isn’t exactly evil either. But she definitely doesn’t do anything out the goodness of her heart. She deals in favors and apparently she twists the favors kind of like a genie 🧞‍♀️. And then to discover that Jonas defies all logic when it comes to his magic and can break through Sophie’s abilities, with extreme physical toll, was amazing. I liked Jonas regardless of his donkey ways but I like him even more. Of course Hagan and his mating call is getting stronger and stronger. And with a little help from Valor things hit a breaking point and shatter like nothing has ever shattered before.

By getting the benefit of varying characters' prosceptives on their growing feelings and struggles toward, not only Sophia, but each other, you start to see more depth of the characters. It is a nice change that I didn't even know I appreciated until I saw it was an option in the RH-theme. You could sense the horror he feels at his past actions as he tries to atone in the tiniest of ways in all his actions and reactions. Hagan was also a surprise, especially at the end, but I won't ruin that for you. The book has some issues with grammar, punctuation, and usage, but they do not distract from the story. If you enjoy steamy RH fantasy, this book could fill the bill.

What A Twist! I am really enjoying this series, though I'm a bit worried about where this is going sexually. I'm personally not a fan of men engaging each other in sex, and I'm already getting a taste of it happening. It's not too bad yet, but if it gets more so, not even the plot can keep me reading. Other than that, it really is a good read, aside from the frequent errors, that is. Way to many errors continue to pull me out of the story. I wish I could get more of a feel of Elowen. Sophie is use to her life being turned up side down by Mother but what happens when Valor, Hagan, Carrigan and even Jonas gets stuck in the cross hairs. Watch Out World September stone is an author that is going to shake the reverse harem world. She is writing at a level that competes with the most popular author's of this genre. I did a review on her first book of this series with the ARC program. It was such a fantastic read I naturally had to fit her second book into my crazy reading schedule. It's that good. Readers be warned. This is the book that will keep you up to the wee hours of the night just because you can't put it down. Valor leads Sophie, Carrigan, Hagan, and Jonas into the enchanted woods to find the mage who can free the Lost River. Mother Nature pushes Sophie to the extreme - but not all is as it seems, and the secrets that are unveiled could be shattering for all of them. 4.5 truly--I love this book! I think the characters are vivid and each have their own thing going on, a and I think the powers are interesting and mostly different that what I usually see. The end with Hagan also super subverted my expectation of what was coming. ALSO the twist I DIDN'T SEE COMING (probably because there was no groundwork laid for it, but that is OKAY! )(for this one time, and whatever other time I deem defensible). 4.5 truly--I love this book! Great Relationships are building and getting stronger in book 2 and Sophie definitely needs it with the big revelation that happens. We also get to see Jonus isn't a complete tool. I can't wait to see how Valor is going to feel when he realizes what he did at the end of the book. Not so sure it's a bad thing but he went about it all wrong. Great read I absolutely love this series. Sophie’s ability to dampen other “magic” has always been a negative in her life. Then, she meets 3 men who desperately need to NOT be controlled by their magic/gifts. How there lives change for the better is just one of the reasons I loved reading this series. Can’t wait for the next one.

Four stars I really liked this story, the idea of a witch that negates magic near her was interesting. I also love to have all the different view points of the characters. However, I do not like cliffhangers, it would be better to just release one large book, not a bunch of small ones.

Wow, what Valor did there at the end of the book to the group was not right at all, he was such a sweetheart throughout the book then he had to go ruin everything!! Even though im happy that Hagan got some peace for his bear, Valors actions were uncalled for. There was so much angst and conflict in this book, but the story and characters are so good!! Love it! Ok, ok.... this book take all the twisty, dark stuff from book 1 and morphs it into a plot that shakes the narrative and changes the game, quite literally. I won’t spoil it for you, just say that I KNEW something was up with that darkness... and Valor is going to be in so much delicious trouble after that final chapter!

Loved it It had me laughing too many times to count. It’s better than the first one in my opinion. Some parts are definitely predictable but it doesn’t take away from the magic. It is a bit ‘instalove’ with some cháchara but it works well with this particular story I think.

Total game changer of an ending. I did not see that coming. Sophie’s world is turned upside down in this book, and I’m not even sure how to talk about it without spoilers, so I will just say I am loving this series. The stories do build on each other, so read book 1 first :)

Decent The plot is thickening, definitely picks up a little but you dont e d on a cliffhanger. Really, you have unanswered questions but could stoo here and be satisfied. The steam picks up the very last 2 chapters, and just barely. Not bad.
