OK, so I love Anna Wineheart and I love this series. She usually writes some great emotionally-driven angst, there's a short-term breakup oftentimes somewhere in the story, and then things end with a HEA. But through that journey, I love the characters and their chemistry together, and their story, so I'm OK with the angst and a breakup. In this story, I never connected to Ollie or Eric. Olivier especially, I hated the things he'd tell Eric, the lies (especially the lies in regards to Zan), and OK, so I love Anna Wineheart and I love this series. Olivier especially, I hated the things he'd tell Eric, the lies (especially the lies in regards to Zan), and the wishy-washy back and forth he had through the whole story. Eric was only slightly better, but he'd waver back and forth between things like "I maybe kinda like you," and calling Ollie his step-brother and brother - big difference between those two words for these two. Miscommunication is my biggest pet peeve, because all of the confusion, heartache, and drama could be resolved with one fifteen minute honest conversation, and these two went through the whole book needing that type of conversation. Add in family drama (I mean...they're NOT related, guys!), what Ollie said about Eric's late wife and their kid, more lies and avoidance, this story just didn't work for me. I felt like Eric and Ollie were both too emotionally immature to deal with having a kid, let alone raising two. Levi, however, definitely interested me and I hope he will get a story! And I still would recommend this series - not every story can work for you every time, so I'm still really looking forward to more from Meadowfall! I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

I love reading books by Anna Wineheart, and this book was no exception. I loved this stepbrother taboo story. I loved Ollie and Eric and how they struggled to be together. I thought Ollie's stepmom was a piece of work and was sad that she only got hurt in the car accident. I thought it would have been more fitting if she had died. Karma and all of that but nope like a cockroach she lived. Oh well, at least Ollie has Eric and his other stepbrothers to be a family with, and I was glad that his dad finally came around to accepting their relationship. Love overcomes all! Ollie and Eric were always close, and could feel the bond between them, even as children. I enjoyed this. It was clear from the beginning they still had feelings for each other underneath the pain they felt. There’s was love full of passion, which sometimes led to hurts. I loved that Eric was pretty patient with Ollie and usually understood his POV when they did have a misunderstanding. These two simply belonged together, and did what they had to to be happy together. *ARC provided by author

Wonderful! Such a great story, even if I bawled my eyes out through large chunks. I'm so happy we got Olivier's story. It was such a good one.

It brings a second chance for true love. Olivier Lancaster’s father married again after his wife dies. Young Olivier meets his step-brother Eric…later two more step-brothers are born. Through the years he grew up in the Lancaster’s household Olivier was emotional and mental abused by his step-mother. She did everything she could to keep Olivier away from her children, especially Eric. Before leaving for prep school, Eric confessed his love for Olivier, Olivier said he didn’t love him back, but he did love Eric. Olivier had to tell Eric that because of a threat from his step-mother for himself and he feared Eric would be kicked out of his family he loved so much. Eric left for school broken-hearted, but so did Olivier. A decade passes and Olivier is still dealing with his step-mother’s disgust and hatred and not welcomed back to the family home he grew up in. And on top that, his abusive ex-boyfriend wouldn’t stay away. The angst and pain Olivier went through in that length of time brought heartache and low self-esteem Olivier struggled with daily. I hated his step-mother as well as his father who never stood up for his own son. When Eric comes back into Olivier’s life there are old wounds between them that needed to be healed. Eric had married after leaving, had a nine-month old daughter and a wife that died two months before. The journey to get back the love that was once there a decade ago, took hard work and opened up wounds that never really healed for both of them, but it took a lot of guts for Olivier. As their relationship deepen, so does the hatred of his step-mother and Eric for the first time sees what Olivier must have dealt with growing up. With Olivier pregnant with Eric’s child only added to the fiery flames of Olivier’s step-mother and later all was brought out into the open with the family around as to what Olivier had dealt with for years. There’s so much to this book that brought waves of emotions…pain, heartache, happiness and joy. I laughed, I cried, and I hated the step-mother, but also hated Olivier father for not supporting his only son. As I mentioned earlier, this is an emotional journey of angst, mental and physical abuse intertwined with deep love and really hot sex. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced read copy of this book.

Also, I have read Thicker Than Blood, the short story that introduces Eric and Ollie, but will confine my review to the contents of Stepbrother's Secret. This book centers around two stepbrothers who have known each other since Olivier was seven and Eric was five. The story starts ten years after the brothers' last interaction, where Eric confessed his feelings and Ollie denied his in order for Eric to have a future. Now Eric is back in town; a widower, a daddy to a very young girl, and regional manager to a chain music store. When he goes to check out the local competition he never expected to find the omega that broke his heart. Caught off guard but wanting to confront Olivier, he enters the store only to find Olivier in heat and that maybe the thing he was angry about wasn't what he thought it was. Olivier, (Ollie), has been struggling since he was seven and his father remarried. His step-mother is an emotional abusive monster and his father is emotional absent. The only bright spot in his life growing up was his stepbrother Eric. Every time Ollie felt low and unloved, there was Eric. But after eleven years of his step-mother's abuse and telling Ollie not to mess-up Eric' future, Ollie denies his feelings when Eric confesses. Eric can do so much better than Ollie, even if Eric is the only alpha that Ollie wants. Now his little music shop is in trouble from a chain store, the alpha he sometimes sees is an abusive piece of work, his step-mother thinks he's a prostitute, and his "family" don't really seem to notice his absence. But Eric's back and Ollie's in heat, can this end well? The story is an emotional ride. One minute you are up and cheering for love. The next you want to bash someone in the head. And then you're sniveling as either Eric or Ollie's heart breaks just a little more. Anna keeps you on the edge about whether everything will work out. She at least doles out some karmic justice to at least two of the less likable characters. A totally enjoyable full-length novel for those who like sexy times and angst.

I've really liked this series so far. We've been given some wonderful characters with great story lines and this one is just as good. Lies and events means that they meet again ten years later, Olivier working in his music store and living alone, and Eric has moved back to town with his baby daughter after his wife died. Upon meeting again, their attraction cannot be denied and what follows is the two men learning each other again and what they can possibly have in the future. I always enjoy the men that Anna writes. We are guaranteed a lot of emotion and some distress or trauma in the past but an unwavering love between the Alpha and Omega, regardless of their relationship. There is stubbornness as determination in Olivier to do the right thing by his head but his heart is leading the way when it comes to Eric and once Eric learns of how Olivier really thinks of himself, he's determined to show him how much he's worth. It's a very well written tale and it is especially interesting to see how this story played out as there has already been the stepbrother trope in this series. This is a very separate story and has it's own bumps in the road but I did enjoy the cameo from Raph and Wyatt. There are several great secondary characters that, eventually, come around and offer support and friendship to the couple. One thing that bothered me was how often "brother" was mentioned as though it kept having to be pointed out to make it more illicit. Olivier was also so very negative towards himself but it was good to read that there wasn't suddenly a miraculous change as is sometimes written, love and support being the best medicine. I'd definitely recommend this story and the series overall. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

I have to admit that I was surprised by how quickly the MCs reunited. I honestly thought it would take more time for them to get over their past. However, the book starts off hot and heavy, and the MCs get right down to business. There is a lot of angst involved in this story. There is past abuse, both emotional and physical, from childhood through adulthood in Ollivier's life. This has caused him to make questionable decisions and self-destructive behavior since he and his brother were separated. Eric has spent his life locking away a part of himself; even from his omega wife. When he loses her and is left to raise their daughter, his job gives him the opportunity to move back to his hometown. Unfortunately for both MCs, his job could bring devastation of its own. Along with Ollie's personal fears, the real possibility of Eric losing the family that he adored causes Ollie to make one mistake after another. Fortunately, Eric is able to learn from the past, and look past Ollivier's words. I'm the end, the two get the happiest ever after they could have dreamed of, and the future looks bright. It also appears that the author has set up for at least one sequel in the future. She is a new author for me, but I really did enjoy the story. Happy reading! * I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. *

Well the author is an amazing writer that just keeps you wanting more. I am a big fan of this writer, and this series. Granted I have didn't realise we had got to book 6 already, since I had finished book 2. Looks like I have a few to catch up on which are in my to read list again. Sorry I have not said anything exactly about the book yet. So here goes. I absolutely loved this book and it's amazing characters, they where strong yet vulnerable. The journey we went on with Oliver and Eric was quite a passionate, sometimes heartbreaking, but definitely a powerful one. These two characters where soul mates, which you could feel coming off the pages in waves. This is an absolute must read, one that will make you want to read again at a different time. It doesn't need reading this book in order, so don't strees it's book six. You may meet a character from a previous book but you won't know until you go back, but you won't know their journey so it isn't ruined. So go out and grab this asap you will not regret it. I was able to be a arc reviewed for this book, but everything I have written I whole heartedly feel and think.

They had an affinity to one another even as boys. Eric an alpha has returned to Meadowfall to manage a competing music store with his daughter after his wife died. Their first meeting and their reactions are a surprise to both of them. They had a history of more-than-brothers after that night on the fire escape on Ollie’s 18th birthday. Until Ollie said some things… Oh. My. Word…chapter 3, their first time. They both carry secrets they don’t want to share, but if they had there would have been less angst, I think. There is anxiety b/c of past mistakes, an abusive boyfriend, proverbial stepmother situation, competing occupations, insecurities on both sides, not to mention a vindictive somebody. If you like explicit M/M romance between consenting loving adults with worries coming out of everybody and predictable complications, you’ll enjoy this story. Spoiler: the pain Ollie must have caused Eric after his mom’s accident by saying leave and when Eric needed him the most, must have been crushing. Ollie gets overly righteous and cowardly. I volunteered to review an Advance Reader Copy of this book. Ms. Wineheart can write this kind of story to perfection.

This was Anna Wineheart at her best! I loved Olivier and Eric from the very first and connected with the anguish that both men felt over their love for each other. And I can't wait for Levi and Cole's story. The thing that struck me the strongest here was how Olivier loved Eric so much that he was constantly making choices to protect his love. Normally this would be a beautiful thing, but Olivier's terrible self esteem, fueled by Eric's mother's hatred, made Ollie continually make horrible choices, that hurt pretty much everyone, in his determination to protect Eric. I loved the way that Eric recognized and ignored these attempts to push him away as he helped Ollie feel worthy of being loved. Also, while I found Wendy Lancaster to be a piece of work, I actually feel less forgiving of Ollie's dad. If he was simply oblivious to Ollie's torment, that's bad, but understandable, but for him to blame Ollie for being his wife's victim for years had my blood boiling. We didn't see what was involved in Ollie reaching out to repair his relationship with his dad, but I like to think that daddy dearest cut that cramp out, and apologized. The author really told the harshness of Ollies early years and which made my heart go out to him because even when the truth is revealed I could still have slapped his father as it just seemed to me to be brushed under the rug, though the brothers were pretty good at protecting there "brother". I looking forward to Levi and Cole story and what exactly happened to put that barrier between them so I can't wait for the next book. Couple of slight grumbles that annoyed me was that Eric kept saying your my brother by day, and my omega by night, yes we know this book had a taboo theme and we got that but they weren't by blood so to keep referring to him as brother was annoying especially when they'd established there relationship as surely it'd be just there partner first? I also would of liked a little more resistance before they got together but the sex scenes were written good. The baddie of the picture was nicely portrayed as the villain and Ollie I just wanted to hug when he thought he deserved that mistreatment. A good book and one that is going to make me start the whole series💜

He kinda comes around in the end but other than Wendy being absent there is no real conclusion on that front. But it looks like we will probably be seeing their brother Cole again in another book, so excited to see the series continuing. I received an ARC of this book and am giving an honest review.

First, even as this book belongs to a series you don't need to have read the others to understand what's going on here. And what's going on here is two stepbrothers who had fallen in love. Oliver ends up pregnant, although he keeps saying it's not Erik's baby This is a character-driven story, about the journey that both, Oliver and Erik are travelling toward self-acceptation and forgiveness. Is about overcoming external pressures, too: Oliver's abusive ex and the nasty stepmom Wendy, who simply are the voice of the outsiders, from the society at large. The only thing that annoyed me a bit is was the reiteration of the 'we're stepbrothers' caveat, that was done a little too much. But all in all, this is a well-written story, and if you enjoy both, the stepbrothers and MPreg tropes, you will enjoy this book.

This was an engrossing and stressful read. Olivier and Eric grew up as stepbrothers, but even as children, they were more to each other than siblings. Olivier had a terrible self image, due to his vile stepmother and exacerbated by a horrible ex, and he continuously pushed Eric away. Eric had his own problems to sort through, after losing his previous omega in an accident he blamed on himself, but he knew that he still wanted Ollie for his own. There were several times when I felt frustrated with Ollie's need to sacrifice his own happiness to do what he thought would be best for Eric, rather than letting his alpha make his own choices. My heart hurt for both men for most of the book. But there were humorous moments and a few great supporting characters who kept my hopes alive, and I was ultimately extremely satisfied with the way things ended up for Eric and Ollie. I liked this well written book, and look forward to the next installment in this great series.

This is an intense, emotional, and all around wonderful story! That said, sensitive readers beware. There are some very intense domestic violence scenes involving one of the MCs and an abusive ex. While rescue comes, it is not before significant brutality occurs. This is a touching story - it made me laugh and cry. I loved the secondary characters of Cole and Aaron - best brothers ever - and they way they tried to help bring Eric and Olivier back together. This story has some edge of your seat moments, numerous very steamy intimate scenes, lies and misunderstandings, lots of angst, a lovable toddler, and second-chance love between step-brothers. Definitely a recommended read! I received a complimentary ARC from the author. This is my honest, voluntary review.

One thing you can guarantee about an Anna Wineheart book is that she will break your heart and then sweetly mend it back together by the end. It all starts when Eric returns to Meadowfall after the death of his wife with a little girl and new managing job of a rival music store. Olivier is caught by surprise when Eric enters Ollie's Strings and back into his life. I really enjoyed this book, my heart hurt for the characters at times and others I couldn't help smiling. If you have read the other Meadowfall books will definetly want to read Stepbrother's Secret!

I loved the idea of this story stepbrothers and Mpreg all rolled into one my favorite kind of story combined. While I did enjoy it I found myself getting annoyed by Oliver. He was too indecisive and playing hot and cold all the time. Then Eric would just look at him and he was in bed with him. I did like how hot it was. It was off the charts with the chemistry and there was no denying that the sex was wrote well. I would have liked it more if there had been more of a fight but up. Eric walks back into Ollie’s life after ten years apart. Ollie having broken his heart and leaving him. But it’s forgotten almost instantaneously. If you like hot with lots of angst then this is the one for you. I voluntarily read this in exchange for an honest review.

I was looking forward to reading this book because the synopsis is great but unfortunately it is just an okay read for me. Even though it has an intriguing storyline and is well-written I dislike Ollie and Eric for most of the book. Their lack of communication and Ollie's continuous lies create a lot of unnecessary angst. They also seem disconnected from each other until the end even though they do have smoking hot chemistry. I love Stepbrother's Secret by Anna Wineheart. It's wonderfully complex, with multi-layered family issues, as well as work issues. Ollie's already been outcast by his family, but he doesn't want the same for Eric. This part kills me, as Ollie wants more for Eric than he has himself. Stepbrother's Secret includes abuse, danger, an accidental pregnancy, and insane family issues. And it's all a ton of fun! I definitely will be checking out the other books in this series.

Ms Anna Wineheart writes stories that are heartfelt and so romantic. That been said the story of Eric and Ollie, stepbrothers and clearly fated mates was also heartfelt with a few dark themes or triggers. Ollie has been treated so bad since he was a child, by his own family, it’s understandable that he has issues and fears but it took a lot for him to be likeable to me. Levi is a cool friend to have though and I hope he gets his HEA too.

Stepbrother's Secret by Anna Wineheart is the sixth book in the Men of Meadowfall series. It is a contemporary mpreg, second chance romance that will give you the feels and make you crave more Meadowfall. Olivier and Eric are great characters that you will root for, they have along journey but their love is beautiful. Definitely a great addition to a fantastic series. Olivier and Eric had loved each other as more than stepbrothers for as long as either one could remember. The only problem is Ollie lied to Eric and told him he never loved him, and pushed him away for what he thought was Eric's own good. Poor Ollie used lying as a defense mechanism to protect himself from so much growing up that he didn't know how to stop and always unleashed it on Eric "for his own good". It was sad how oblivious Eric, Cole and Aaron were to how their mother treated Olivier for his entire life, but sweet how Eric stood up for Ollie once he actually knew about the abuse. Jenn was a little ball of happiness both Eric and Ollie needed in their lives and was too cute. 'I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.'

I was captivated when we first got a glimpse of Olivier and Eric while they were growing up together. This was such a moving story. I cannot tell you how many times I cried. My kids were freaking out. The relationship may have been taboo but so loving and sweet. My heart was breaking in the Zan scenes. I fell in love with Eric even more when he came to the rescue time and time again. I read and reviewed a copy of this book.

I really liked Stepbrother’s Secret. I thought the story flowed well and was fast paced and interesting to read. I thought Olivier and Eric were likable MCs and I liked that they had a history right from childhood. It was definitely a very sexy story. I like Meadowfall, there are 3 music stores there. That world definitely respects music. Jenn was a very sweet baby and I liked the other brothers. I look forward to reading the next story and I recommend this book.

I volunteered to read the Advanced Readers Copy. We were given a little taste of Olivier and Eric in our teaser prequel and now we get to see how their story ends. Love, hate, family, loyalty, support and music all make up a wonderful story for an alpha and omega couple that deserve to be together. With the help from some old friends and some new ones I couldn’t put this book down.
