The auction is at 771 Norvega Boulevard. I'm four weeks pregnant - and heartbroken. And I'm about to become the property of some lowlife with a thick bank account. I can see eager hands shooting into the air. "We got one thousand over here" "Who can do him one better? "Five thousand," "Ten thousand dollars," shouted a man sitting towards the front. The room went silent. That's it. The auction is at 771 Norvega Boulevard.  I'm four weeks pregnant - and heartbroken. And I'm about to become the property of some lowlife with a thick bank account. This was my first time reading this author and while I liked this book I was expecting something else. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling.

Title This book and the storyline is absolutely rubbish. You have to actually read three quarters of the book before the title even comes into play. What a wimp of a hero too.

This is a well written slow burn romance story. From the title I expected something completely different to what I got, that isn’t a bad thing, as this story was different and very enjoyable to read. There’s lots of twists and turns in this story that held my interest throughout. It’s not an overly long story but it is an entertaining one. I would suggest anyone who enjoys a good romance where the man is infatuated with his lady and is prepared to do whatever he has to in order to protect her This is a well written slow burn romance story. Ugh what did I just read?! Terrible! This was one of the worst books I’ve ever read. Terrible writing style, lame plot. The unoriginal title should’ve been my first clue not to waste my time. None of the characters were remotely likable.

I received this book as a gift through Booksprout to read as an ARK and I would like to give an honest opinion of what I have read. At first I didn’t know what to think about this book as I was reading it. I didn’t know if it was a romance novel or a mystery novel or what exactly. I did know that it had me hooked with the unanswered questions that I had as I read the story. I concluded that I liked it a lot. As things started to get complicated towards the end I had one surprising shock after I received this book as a gift through Booksprout to read as an ARK and I would like to give an honest opinion of what I have read. I did know that it had me hooked with the unanswered questions that I had as I read the story. I concluded that I liked it a lot. As things started to get complicated towards the end I had one surprising shock after another. I like how the book did not focus on the sexual aspect that so many romance novels do. There was just one scene and that was enough and basic enough to get the point across. It wasn’t really about sex but love. Something that the main character Javier was reluctant to confess until he almost lost everything. The last few chapters will have your blood pumping so keep reading until you get to the end. What an ending. Javier Odriosola is the twenty five year old son of Rex Odiosola. Rex was know to the world as a well know socialite. He was like a celebrity and he used that to his advantage. Right now Rex was embroiled in a heated divorce with Javier’s mother but he was using that as a tactic to also get away from a drug charge that was against him. Rex had wanted Javier to come to court and to lie and tell everyone what a great and upstanding man he was when in reality he was far from it. He was part of the Mexican Mafia; he had made Javier doing some of his dirty work since he was a boy of fourteen. He repeatedly risked his sons life for profit from drug sales and other deals. The results were there were several groups that were out to kill Javier. Javier had spent the last two years trying to lay low and not cause any light to come his way. Stoney Harville how ever who was his dad’s attorney was trying to get Javier to help his dad. Something that in his good conscious he could not do. Javier decides to go to Cuba for a while to get away from the reality of his life. While there he meets Claudia. She is so different from any of the other girls he has ever met before. Instead of being the old playboy that he used to be he instead strikes up a friendship with her even though she is what the hotel call comes from a dating agency that they hire out to guest. There is so much more behind Claudia than just being a girl and she is also intrigued by Javier. Though he will not tell her what his real job is she continues to see him. Then she is kidnapped. And then everything in Javier’s world starts to turn upside down and backwards. The question now will he be able to find Claudia before something really, really bad happens to her. You will not believe the twist and turns this story takes. Definitely worth the time to read.

This was a good book but a few parts left me blinking like....wait, what just happened? How did we get here? This was a slow burn romance. There is alot of characters who feel thrown in and don't really have a place or purpose and there are alot of scenes and dialogue that seem out of place. I loved Javier. The son of a drug king and he is trying to change his playboy image. You have Erin, who is his accountant but they have a close relationship. She feels out of place in this book. Like a square peg in a round hole. I liked her, but I didn't understand her purpose. Then you have Claudia, who is a paid escort that Javier falls in love with. The author makes a big deal and several comments about her being a virgin and at the end of one chapter she is pushing Javier away for kissing her because she isn't ready and doesn't want the escort service mad at her.....and the beginning of the next chapter they are having sex and she is losing her virginity to him. Wait....what? How the heck did that happen? Why? Its scenes like that where I'm left scratching my head. I liked the characters, I liked the story, I just feel like alot of it was awkward and could have been so much more. That's why I only gave it 3 stars. I definitely enjoyed Kidnapped by the Colombian Mafia better......Ms. Brightholme has alot of talent for story telling, she just needs to light the fireworks.

“SOLD BY THE CUBAN MAFIA” was not at all what I expected. IT WAS SO MUCH MORE! Author Brightholme has written a slow burn love story that turns into a suspense-filled thriller. To say any more about the plot would spoil the fun and believe it when I say fun. I’m thinking my next trip is going to be in Cuba! Both of the main characters were easy to like and together made a couple for whom one could easily see in a happy ending. Speaking of endings, there were a couple of loose ends left – perhaps on purpose if this is the beginning of a series . . . But loose ends non-withstanding, “SOLD BY THE CUBAN MAFIA” was a good read, and it presents readers with a different view of the Cuban Mafia than they may be expecting. I voluntarily read a copy of “SOLD BY THE CUBAN MAFIA” and this is my voluntary and HONEST review. This one earns 4 stars as traditionally a novella’s length disallows the kind of depth and detail some readers look for in a novel. If you like your romances a bit gritty with unexpected twists, then “SOLD BY THE CUBAN MAFIA” should be your next romance purchase. Happy pages! 😉

Javier is trying everything to change his life around.. no more dating and going out for the playboy as he wants to shed the badboy image and distance himself from his father and the family business. Sold to the Cuban Mafia. What an exciting story. It took a minute to get going, but when it did, it had me at the edge of my seat. The story was thrilling! Javier was a bad boy and more, but he met a woman that stole his heart. Claudia gave Javier a reason to do good until she was ripped from him. He was determined to get her back. This is a must read book! I hope there is more to the story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. *** I voluntarily Sold to the Cuban Mafia. I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review. I enjoyed reading this book, although it was a little bit slow to start with. Once you got into the book and were introduced to the main character's it got a lot better. The romance between Javier and Claudia was really heart warming. And what Javier did for Claudia was truly amazing, and something I think we all want a man to do for us, although without us having to go through what Claudia has to go through. At first I thought I received the wrong book. It dragged it got exciting on the after the 16 chapter. A lot of the book was convoluted, you would think the meeting with her bosses would be an intimidating one. But no mention of any of it. He is supposed to be a big shot, but his behavior was of a civilian that was sheltered. Cuba! Its not like Cuba is the mecca of underworld magia. Not a fan of the story.

Could've been great Story had the potential for greatness but fell short at the end. The author made the male lead, for lack of better words, into a man seemingly afraid of his own shadow throughout the entire book until the last chapter. It's literally like at the end the writer was tired of the story and wanted it to end quickly. Which kind of sucks because if they just took the time to extend the story it would've been really great.

Good story telling skills by this author. The story didn't jump right into the auction of a virgin and the bidding war, their first sexual liaison, etc, like so many others. This author has a unique storyline, developed the relationship and made this a bright, interesting story that I really enjoyed.

Description of book is completely wrong I barely got through 1/2 of this book when I finally gave up. I’ve read a lot of romance books, and I can honestly say, this was the most boring book I have ever read. It dragged. This book should be completely rewritten to reflect the description of the book, which would make it a lot more interesting.

I quite enjoyed read this mafia romance, the story-line & plot is well thought and written with just the right amount of drama, suspense and intrigue. The characters have individual personalities with determination, fears and desires. There is: twists & turns, secrets, family issues, deceit, betrayal, threats, murder, manipulations, love & a satisfying conclusion.
