I've been very luke warm on this series lately, but this short really drew me in and it was all due to the found toddler. There was something about her that charmed me just as she did everyone else she came in contact with. I was glad that Sarah Booth found her and along with Coleman figured out where she came from and what happened. Both mother and child are in a much better place now.

A Lost Child Enchanted Bones is a special feel -good novella with the full flavor of Sarah Booth Delaney. Written as a gift for fans of the series when the 2020 pandemic delayed the publication of Garland of Bones, the novella offers a lovely time with Sarah Booth and Coleman as they search for the person responsible for leaving a toddler alone in the woods.

Enchanted Bones by Carolyn Haines is an excellent short story that shows compassion, superstitions, and unwavering family ties. Will Sarah Booth find the little girl's mother? When Sarah Booth finds a toddler in the woods all alone with a note that she is cursed, Sarah Booth decides she is going to find the girl's family. It's a quick little story that tells the tale of a child that is different, and how some people react to her is scary while others understand how special she is.  I truly liked Enchanted Bones by Carolyn Haines is an excellent short story that shows compassion, superstitions, and unwavering family ties. It's a quick little story that tells the tale of a child that is different, and how some people react to her is scary while others understand how special she is.  I truly liked the ghost town, Bokchito, and the story of Sally Weathers. Ms. Haines surprises and entertains her audience with the brilliant combination of mystery, romance, and the supernatural.  Jitty was also present in a few scenes, and these are the mothers that Jitty chose to embark parental knowledge to Sarah Booth. Five Stars As always, I am thoroughly entertained by Sarah Booth and her friends. Even though Tinkie and Cece weren't in this story, it still has other citizens of Sunflower County. My rating for Enchanted Bones by Carolyn Haines is five stars, and I can't wait for the next book, A Garland of Bones by Carolyn Haines. Other Books in the Series Released July 27th The Devil's Bones by Carolyn Haines As Sarah Booth sees it, Easter weekend is a time to celebrate life in all its many forms. So when the newly-pregnant Tinkie invites her and Cece on a girls' trip to Lucedale, Mississippi to celebrate that spring has officially sprung, Sarah Booth can't resist. Plans include facials, food, and a trip to the incredible Garden of Bones—a miniature Holy Land with recreations of all parts of the Middle East—for their Sunrise Easter Services led by biblical scholar, gardener, and creator of the Gardens Daniel Reynolds. Unfortunately for Sarah Booth and the gang, someone doesn't seem to appreciate this season of new life. Easter morning has just dawned when the trio find themselves at the Mount of Olives—with a dead body at their feet. Reynolds identifies the dead man as local lawyer Perry Slay, who was well known for his sly and underhanded dealings. Perry had rubbed plenty of people the wrong way, and now it looks like someone has rubbed him out… Because being a PI apparently means never being on vacation, Sarah Booth and her friends must now find a way to resurrect the truth from a list of suspects as long as the River Jordan, reveal the devil in disguise, and—if they're lucky—find a moment to enjoy a few chocolate bunnies before more bodies pile up like pillars of salt. Releasing on October 13th A Garland of Bones by Carolyn Haines Sarah Booth has traded in hosting this Christmas season for a road trip with her besties. Each little Delta town has a special Christmas activity, and Sarah Booth's bff and detective partner, Tinkie, has arranged to rent a limo for the gang and drive to Columbus, MS, to stay in a B&B. Visions of Christmas shopping, parade floats, and romantic rendezvous are already dancing in their heads. But Christmas cheer soon turns to Christmas fear when, at one event after another, people keep getting hurt. Christmas karaoke gets ugly when one singer's microphone gives her an electric shock. A party during a historic home tour ends with a fall down the stairs for one of Columbus's most disreputable "players." And when the woman who hires Sarah Booth to find the villain behind the so-called accidents is nearly killed with an arrow during a holiday mumming, Sarah Booth knows something more sinister is at work. The Christmas bells are ringing hauntingly in Columbus this year, and Sarah Booth and Tinkie—with a little help from hunky Sheriff Coleman Peters, of course—are determined to catch the wrong-doers and ensure they receive nothing but coal in their stockings.   Thank you for dropping by! That’s what Sarah Booth is going to find out with help from the sheriff and her four legged animals. Why is everyone afraid of the little girl with the strange birthmark on her forehead? Sarah Booth, is sole member of the Delaney Detective Agency on this pro bono case because Tinkie and Oscar are in New Orleans for a vacation, has a job ahead of her. Sara Booth is startled to discover a young girl while she is on a horseback ride one day. The child is very young, has a birthmark that looks startlingly like a third eye, and also has note pinned to her back saying that she is cursed and that anyone who helps her will also be cursed. There was a lot going on in this novella (lots of new-to-the-series history built in) but it was still an enjoyable read.

Sarah Booth sets off for a quiet ride. Taking a lunch break she hears her mother’s voice, “find her.” Sarah Booth searches and finds a toddler with an unusual birthmark looking like a 3rd eye. The toddler is hungry but happy. Sarah Booth and Coleman search for parents and why this child was abandoned. One can never have too much Sarah Booth and this novella is a pandemic gift to her readers. I enjoyed this story thoroughly and can’t wait for the next novel.

Enchanted Bones I’m very fond of the Sara Booth Delaney mysteries. This is short story. Sara Booth finds an abandoned child and set out to find her mother with help from Coleman. Ms Haines has a way of describing the local and characters that make them visible and real. It’s a quick, pleasant read.

While riding in the woods, Sarah Booth hears a cry and finds a beautiful toddler with a birth mark shaped like an eye on her forehead. The child is incredibly serene and appears to have an amazing rapport with animals.

Great Story I wondered how such a big story could be told in a novella, but Haines pulled it off. It's interesting and I love the characters. Especially Sweetie Pie the sleuth.
