A short, quick and easy romp through a potted history of infamous dictators. While it was interesting to read and I learnt a lot about some of, in my opinion, recent history's lesser known dictators, it was an incredibly biased book. Not that I agree with any of what they have done - they have definitely definitely done a lot of horrific things - but I expect that when I am reading a work of non-fiction that the writer will focus on objective facts. Not that I agree with any of what they have done - they have definitely definitely done a lot of horrific things - but I expect that when I am reading a work of non-fiction that the writer will focus on objective facts. If you want to be titillated by the worst and most graphic details of a dictator's time in power, then this is a good book, but if you want to find out about the facts of some of history's worst leaders then you may be disappointed.

This book could do with some editing, in its use of commas, apostrophes and also the order of information. That aside, I found it very interesting, informative and I love the humour with which it is written. Each chapter is just the right size, with enough information to provide a decent understanding, but not so much as to become tedious.

Have only read the chapter on Stalin - some good quotes but I'd be really careful about using some of the info without using any other sources. For example, Stalin insulting Krupskaya was downplayed as an honest accident. It's a great chapter for getting a feel of the time, and is really easy to understand. Good general read, but keep your wits about you.

Quite a good little book with a short history on some of the world's worst dictators.
