Our country's leaders should read this one. It's a great reminder of why our nation was founded. We should all read this one and try to get back to our roots. "One nation under God" says the Pledge of Allegiance. My favorite quote from this book is, "A country is only as moral and just as its people." I would go on to say that it's only as moral and just as its leaders, as well. Listen up, America! Our forefathers have something to say.

Previewed the children's version for my daughter. We homeschool and for 5th grade she will be studying US History. GREAT book...touched on Christopher Columbus, Pilgrims, and the first settlers.

I read this book for a home school group and I would never have read one of these book's for fun but i do like them for school, but this one was really good. I loved it!

I started reading this with my son and I think it is very good for children. As an adult, I am glad I also have the regular version of this book. Not only does the book fill in some of the gaps in my public school education, but it also tells the story from a perspective I never heard in school. If you want to balance what your children are being taught (or not being taught) in school or are looking for a quick overview or introduction for yourself, I think this is a place to start.

This book was good at making history a little more real for kids, and it really emphasizes God's hand in America's history. To me it seemed a little too biased at certain points (I feel bad saying it), but it definitely was refreshing to read a book that acknowledges and reveals God's hand in our history.

This book takes a look at the start of the United States from a Christian worldview. The premise of the book is that God has His hand in the creation of this country, but if you believe otherwise, you won't like this book. I enjoyed it and the kids did as well. The snippets of different events of history were told in a story-book fashion, not dry like a textbook.

This was just a great book about American history and how it was essential to have a Christian founding for the country to thrive. I learned some great things that are important for Children to know about our county.

I read this in maybe late-elementary or early junior high, & I remember liking it. Even though I went to a Christian school, we didn't really hear much on the spiritual side of these history stories. Our history books were still religiously-neutral. Personally, I'm not a History person. I'm more for YA Fiction like The Hunger Games, Graceling, etc. but this wasn't horrible. For a History book, it was good!

Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book to my children. One of the rare finds that shows God's providence in the birth of our nation. A GREAT perspective usually not found in history books.

The book was about the discovery of the new world and the early events of it. It started with the life of Christopher Columbus, then told how the first settlements were made, and finally explained how people brought workers to America as the first slaves in the new world. I thought that this book was a bit boring because I don’t really like history, but if you like history you should read it.

This was an informative overview of American history up to George Washington, written for 'tweens. I'd like to read the version written for adults.
